reason #2 (you always made me smile)

dear luke,

this is the second reason of 101 why I loved you.

the second reason I loved you was because you always made me smile, no matter what. I could be having the worst day ever and you could make everything better, just by being you.

you were always there for me, no matter what. you knew if something was going on with me. if I was upset, you would do anything you could just to make me feel better.

you could do something as simple as cuddling with me in bed, and that would make me the happiest person on the planet. you made me feel so happy just being in your presence.

you and I were a simple couple, as people said. we didn't do much. my mum always told me, to never let you go. she told me that even when you and I were doing nothing, I was happy. she told me that she could see happiness radiate off of me whenever I was around you, and she knew, you were the one.

your smile was contagious, and I think that's why whenever I was around you I was always smiling. you always seemed to be happy. no matter what, you always had a smile on your face. when I told you I was pregnant, you smiled, and cried, and I smiled, and cried.

I remember our wedding day, and the way you smiled at me as I walked down the isle. I was a nervous wreck, but the smile you gave me made me smile, and I knew it would be okay.

you always knew how to make me smile, because you loved me, and I knew that. if I was upset, you would do whatever you could to see my "beautiful" smile that you loved so much.

without you here, I find it impossible to smile. you were the light in my life, and you made me happier than anyone ever could.

one of my favourite memories was the day we got married, and the way you looked at me. I couldn't stop smiling because of how happy I was, and you kissed me and told me you loved me and that I was beautiful when I smiled.

you did that all the time,actually, and I didn't think you noticed. every single time I would smile, you would call me beautiful.

the day anna was born, I couldn't stop smiling. you weren't here to see her be born, but I knew you would have loved her, and made her smile just as much as me. she looked just like you, and when she smiled and showed off her dimples, it felt like you were there.

I knew you were there, some way. you were probably thinking about how beautiful our daughter was, and how you wished you could be there for her.

every day, you still made me smile, even though you weren't there. the memories we had, the times we shared, always made me smile.

the good times, the bad times, all made me smile. the fact that I got to know you, and have you in my life for the 5 years that I did, made me smile. your laugh, made me smile. your kind eyes, made me smile. your long legs, made me smile. the way you held my hand, made me smile.

the way you looked at me as I walked down the isle, made me smile. you were the one person in my life that made me smile no matter what you did. I loved you with all of my heart. every time I visited your grave, I remembered to smile, because I once remembered you telling me that my smile was the most beautiful thing you'd ever seen.

even going to your grave, when I smiled at your name written in the stone as tears trailed down my cheeks, I felt like you were there in front of me, wiping my tears with the pads of your thumbs and linking my fingers with yours.

I felt like you were leaning in to my face, kissing my lips gently, and whispering to me, "I miss your smile."

your toes, made me smile. the way you played the guitar, made me smile. the way you sang to me, made me smile. the way you spent time with my family, made me smile.

everything about you, luke hemmings, made me smile.

that was reason 2 of 101 why I loved you.
