She would never understand how someone who claimed to love her as much as he stated he did could hurt her; unintentionally and intentionally.

She could understand that he needed space. He wanted to do him. That was fine. However, the fact that he didn't want her anymore was heartbreaking, especially after everything they had been through.

From triggering to whatever life was throwing at them.

She had become fawn of putting up with him and whatever he had been going through.

Originally, she simply wanted to become best friends with him. He seemed so unique and intriguing but not in a way that made her seem so vulnerable or anything that went beyond a friendly manner.

Maybe it was the simple fact that his voice had caught her attention. A mutual friend had shared and commented on the video and she happened to click on it, her curiosity molding her. His voice was pure and raw. She didn't remember who messaged who first but endless conversations took place. There were factors that showed his irritability when it came to be friend zoned. He found her intriguing from the get go. He wanted to know her. He needed to know her.

He knew her.

A tear rolled down her cheek as her jaw tensed. Her eyes were red but emotionless. Although she was remc she wasn't feeling anything towards him or who he was as a person. It was the memories that haunted her.

She'd fallen in love with him.

That much she knew.

After a while, it didn't matter. Nothing did. He didn't care and she refused to sit around while he was happy with countless amounts of people he didn't even know. He wasn't in love with her.

Not like she was in love with him.

Knowing that was heartbreaking. It made her want to curl into a ball; her spine would curl as she gave in.

She couldn't cry anymore. There was nothing left to cry about. She had cried about it all.

A hard mug swept across her face. She couldn't hate him but she wanted too. Oh, how she itched to hate him. She could only hate who he had become.

At the end of the day, she felt as if he marked her up with black ink. Labeled her and destroyed her.

His friends had a lot to say about her. Nothing positive for that manner. Calling her out about her weight and how no one would ever want her. Petty things. Weight was something she had no control over but it didn't affect her. She'd heard it all before. He didn't stick up for her.

It was cool though.

She realized he wasn't the person she fell in love anyways. She was slipping away from the person she thought she cared about.

They eventually slipped away as well for reasons unknown.

Eventually she realized she was better off on her own. He was a horrid figure in her life; someone she didn't need. Although he claimed he needed her, he only needed her when he needed a fix. When the memories became too much to bare.

She was over it. Every time he came back to her, she wasn't herself. It's like her heart was hanging onto a thread. It couldn't have taken anymore damage. There was nothing left.

The fact that she no longer cared was overwhelming and empowering in a sense.

Although they knew each other well and lived in the same city, the distance between them seem unrealistic. It seemed impossible to avoid someone who went to almost all the same places as you. Yet, it wasn't.

An encounter between the two was rare.

And maybe it was for the best.
