Chapter 15

   Wandering the streets of New York had become normal. Some areas made Justin feel safe while others had him on guard. Some days however, it was all the same. Whether the traffic spoke to him or muffled sirens greeted him, the feeling he received was essentially the same.
Stalking down the overcrowded sidewalk he shoved a hand into his pocket and searched for his pack of cigarettes and his lighter. Releasing the lighter from his grasp, he removed the pack and opened it, taking out a single cigar. His eyes stayed focus on the scenery in front of him as he glided the material between his upper and lower lip, balancing it with his front teeth. Stuffing his hand back into this pocket, he exchanged the package for the lighter and flicked the switch as it made contact with the end of the cigar. Inhaling the sweet toxins made his head feel like mush. He felt as if who he truly was escaped his body. Although, the cigar would never amount to the green and the indescribable feeling it gave him, as he blended in with the people along the sidewalk, he felt at ease.

End note: It's been a month since I updated this book. I've had writer's block for this piece for a moment so the updates have been slow. I know this chapter is short but it's simply a filler for the time being.
