Daniel's POV

"It was lovely to see you again, Alpha." Marie smiles and hugs me. She was an old, fragile lady who use to tell me stories when I was younger.

"Like wise Marie, I'll see you soon." My parents bid their fair well's and start walking with me back to the pack house. "Well it was nice catching up with most of the pack members," I smile. My mom clutched my arms and my dad smiled at me.

"I'm just happy my baby boy is home." My mom says and stands on her tippy toes to kiss my cheek. "Now let's get home, I'm pretty sure your sitter is dying to see you." Both my parents laugh and I roll my eyes.

Since I got back, my sister hates to follow my orders. Or listen to me at all.

"It is just because she is a teenager, she doesn't like anyone trying to control her." My dad laughs.

"Yeah yeah," I shake my head and walk into the house. Shrugging off my leather jacket I throw it onto the sofa and head up stairs to find Cara.

When I reach her door I walk in and the most heavenly scent hits me. A mixture of strawberry and coffee, with a hint of spice. My wolf goes crazy, mate! Mate! I look around and see my sister staring at me curiously.

"Who else is her?" I demand

"What? Dan, what's wrong?" She jumps to my side and grabs my arm in hopes to calm me down.

"I said who else is in-"

"Car, does this look good?" A sweet voice chimes as she walks out of Cara's closet. "Because it was shorter than I tho-" she stops talking when she looks up and sees me. I couldn't stop staring at her. Her long blonde hair was up in a messy ponytail, her dark green eyes were wide, she had soft pink lips, and a beautiful body. Especially in her tiny red top.

"S, this is my brother. Daniel this is my friend Serena," she just stared at me for a while before mumbling something and running back into the closet. I stared after her full of disappointment, why didn't she come to me?

I felt a tug on my arm and turned to have Cara pull me out of her room and down the hall. "No! No way!" She whisper shouts, an angry look crossing her face.

"Wha-"

"Don't act innocent, you and my best friend just made googly eyes at each other. Leave her alone! I don't want you leading her-"

"Cara."

"She is a good person, she is perfect! I don't want you trying to ge-"

"Cara."

"So leaver her alo-"

"She is my mate!" I shout. A few people down stairs look up at me with wide eyes. "She is my mate," I tell her, lower and calmer.

"What?"her voice is a little weak and she looks sad. "But she is human, she can't be."

"You know it is rare, but it happens." A small smile graces my face and Cara frowns. "When should I tell her?" I ask excitedly.

"What?!" Cara practically chokes. "Y-you can't just tell her! She is human and doesn't know anything. You are just so stupid! Do you not think? I mean we are related? How is that po-"

"Damn Cara, you really don't like your brother." Serena laughs and walks up behind us. Serena, it was such a nice name. She was now in a white and black shirt and standing a bit awkward. "Car, are we still getting food?"

"Right," Cara says and sends me a look before grabbing Serena's arm and dragging her down stairs.

I take a moment before following them down stairs to see my parents talking with Serena happily. It is a good think they like her, I think to myself.

"So Serena when is the next game?" My dad asks happily as my mom gets up to make Serena a plate.

"Friday night, I actually have practice tomorrow. The tournament is coming up, so we have to be ready." She smiles and starts eating the large plate of spaghetti my mom served her.

"What sport is that?" I ask and take the seat across from her. She look up at me and her cheeks get hint of red when she realizes I've seen her with a mouthful of food.

"Uh," she takes a moment to chew and swallow her food. "I play soccer for the school," she smiles and eats more food. "Do you play any sports?"

"I did play a little football and basketball." I reply and thank Cara as she places a plate of food in front of me.

"That's cool," she replies and turns to Cara who snorts. "Are you okay?" She asks a little confused, and worried.

"Oh yeah, perfect." Cara says sarcastically.

What's going on? My mom asks through the pack link.

I guess this is as good a time as any, I laugh in my mind to both my parents. They were both looking at me expectantly while Cara and Serena whispered off to the side. Serena is my mate.

My mom gasp happily and my dad sends me a smile.

"You guys okay?" Serena asks a little confused.

"Oh, I'm wonderful darling!" My mom cheers and goes around the counter to wrap Serena in her arms. "Just wonderful!"

"Okay," she sends Cara a pleading look. "Well me and Cara are going to go lay down, I'm going to have a long practice tomorrow." She dunks under my mom, grabs her food, and pulls Cara up stairs.

"Real subtle mom," I shake my head while my dad laughs. "Real subtle."

"Oh Daniel! There isn't a better girl, she so sweet and nice. Oh just think!" She rushed off to her room, most likely planning our wedding and mating ceremony already.

"Well son," my father starts while clasping my shoulders. "Have fun getting through Cara and Serena. Those two... let's just say they are something else."

Once he is gone I drop my head. Of all people, it had to be my little sisters best friend.
