To say I was nervous would be the understatement of the century! I was currently standing in one of the many rooms that made up Daniels house, well the pack house as they told me to start calling it.

It was Christmas Eve and I was stuck in front of a mirror staring at myself. Not in a self centered sort of way, but in a self conscious sort of way.

Tonight was the pack's annual Christmas celebration and I'd finally meet them as their Luna, not Cara's crazy best friend. I felt like I had to look sophisticated and mature, but all I could think was that I'd probably cause a horrible chain of reactions tonight.

Smoothing my dress down:

I continue to stare at my appearance

I continue to stare at my appearance. It wasn't my usual body hugging or flashy dress that Cara suggests, but a simple one. When Lupe and I saw it, we immediately agreed that it was definitely the one.

Knock knock.

"Come in!" I shout and wait for the door to open. It was on the other side of the room but I could still see it in the reflections of the mirror.

Daniel's mom walks in smiling. She was in a floor length, dark purple dress that accentuated her features.

"Hey, Mrs. Irving!" I chirp nervously while running my hands over the dress to make sure it didn't looked wrinkled or ruffled. "Has it begun already?"

She chuckles lightly and shakes her head. "No dear, I just wanted to check on you. How are you doing?" Walking up behind me, her hands lightly grip my shoulders as she smirks at me through the mirror.

"A little nervous, what if I do something stupid? Or make a fool of myself?" My palms were sweaty and I could feel a sweat coming on.

That's just what I needed! Sweat stains.

"You'll be great. I've known you all your life Serena Valor, and I'm happy that of all the humans and wolves in this world the moon goddess chose you to be my sons mate." Her words are so sincere and her smile is so large.

I drop my head to let my loose curls color the red now spreading over me. It really meant a lot to hear those words form such an important figure in my life.

"I'm happy, too. I didn't really believe in the one, but even if we weren't mates I think he still would be the one I love." I say absently.

"Love?" She squeals, shaking me lightly. Excitement filled her eyes and her smile grew even more, of that was possible.

"Yeah, just don't tell Daniel. I haven't told him either, I actually only realized the other night." I tell her sheepishly.

"Well good on you. I also came to bring this," her hand moves to a hidden pocket in the folds of her dress. "It's a gift that moves down the generations, Luna to Luna. It just came back from the healers, I got it cleaned. And I thought, when better to give it than Christmas."
