"So, uh... how's work?" I awkwardly try break the ice, but it didn't do much. The room was full of tension. My parents sat across from each other at the heads of the table.

All you could hear was the clink of forks and knifes on plates. Glass plates, considering my mom found my stash of paper ones and deemed it "below us".

"Fine," they both mumble out between bites and texts.

"And your trips?" I continue. I don't think they got the message that this is how normal people start conversations.

"Fine," they reply. Their voice almost monotone.

"I'm pregnant," i look up to gauge their reactions. Part of me was hoping they'd stand up, outraged and demand why I'd make such mistakes when I have a bright future in front of me.

"That's wonderful honey," they reply in sync, again every ounce of attention on their phones.

And they said our generation couldn't get off technology. They clearly never met my parents.

"So darling have you found a dress?" My mom asks finally looking up from her phone.

"Yeah," I smile brightly. "The other night when I was at Cara's we found some. I've actually got a fitting tomorrow. Did you want to come?"

I hate myself for letting the excitement grow, for having an ounce of childish hope inside that they'd give me an hour of their undivided attention.

"I've got to meet with that caterers tomorrow, but have fun." And her phone was once again in her hand and I was shut out.

Excusing myself I head up stairs to find something to do. Rather be by myself than suffocating in awkward silence with my parents.

My phone lies on my bed and I immediately remember I've still got to invite Lupe. Sure it was like five days away and super last minute, but I'd but her dress.

To Lupe👯:
Ice Ball at my house Christmas night, want to come? Cara and I are shopping for dresses tomorrow.

With that I fall back into me bed and try to fall asleep.

Tap Tap.

So much for that, I think to myself while heading to my balcony. There was literally one person who'd be here.

"Daniel," I smile as I pull open the doors. And I was right. He stand there with just jeans and a hoodie, yet looking so very drool-worthy.

"I've missed you," he sighs while walking in. Laying in the bed he pulls me down beside him to cuddle.

"I saw you like two days ago!"  I feel him mumble something into my hair, it went along the lines of too long. Rolling my eyes I don't hesitate to cuddle into his warm body.

"So, this not the only reason I've decided to pay you a visit." Daniel starts whilst pulling me closer, if that was possible. I give out a small hum, telling him to continue. "Well, there's this traditional thing the pack does every Christmas Eve."

I just nod in response, I remember Cara bringing it up the other night when I had invited her.

"It's mandatory of the whole pack: everyone gets together; we celebrate, feast, at the end of the night there is run." His babbling about the night continued for another three minutes which makes me laugh.

"Baby, I think you've lost your train of thought." His face fades a light pink, have to keep in mind he likes Baby.

"Right, well your my mate now which makes you Luna. Which also makes you-"

"Apart of the pack." I finish and he nods slowly looking away. "I'd love to come. I haven't got plans any way. Besides, it is time I meet them right? I only know like three who I've seen in and out of the house."

"Good," he sighs like a weight was lifted off his chest. "I was scared you were going to say no." His body relaxes even more and he closes his eyes.

I always felt bad, he constantly was worried that any little thing he did could finally break me. It was sweet that he cared, but he didn't have to worry because I loved him-

I love Daniel. My eyes dart up to him, I'm pretty sure he's asleep. He looked so happy and content. And I did that. We did that to each other whenever we were together.

My heart swells.

"Goodnight Daniel," I whisper and lay on his chest.

When I woke up the next morning my bed was empty with a small not in Daniels place.

Had to go back and handle some pack stuff. Have a good day at the mall, call if you need anything. I'll see you tonight.

-love Daniel

Love. My cheeks flush as it remember last nights realization. I loved Daniel!

Next I check my phone.

From Lupe👯:
Sounds great, be at your house my 12.

It was only 9:20 so I had time. I jumped in the shower, washing my body and hair. I love winter, means I don't have to shave my legs because everyone wears pants.

I paired mine with just a grey v-neck and converse then pulled my hair back into a ponytail.

"Hey S!" Lupe's voice suddenly fills the house and I panic a bit, running down stairs.

"Has it been three hours already?! I'm not even ready." I shriek while running around trying to find my bag and wallet.

"Nah I woke up early and didn't have anything to do." She laughs then begins dinning through my kitchen for food. "So how is it being under the same roof with your parents?"

"Weird." I stop my crazy search and take a seat on one of the chairs at the counter. "We don't really acknowledge each other's presents. It's like living with roommates you don't even know."

"That sucks." Lupe decides on strawberry yogurt. "Sooo Cara's coming today, right?" I give her silent yes. "Cool cool, I haven't really had a chance to talk with her since everything."

"Yeah," I sigh "things have been pretty hectic. But today is a day of shopping and relaxation. Now, let me go finish getting ready."

I get up to leave when something catches my attention. A black hoodie was draped on they back of one of the kitchen chairs.

Picking it up cologne fills my nostrils. "Daniel," I lightly whisper and smile. Guess I have an addition to today's outfit.
