"How can you eat that?" Daniel ask, face full of disgust. His parents sit laughing at the three of us.

Cara and I, sat across from him plates and mouths full of Hawaiian pizza. How could people not like the sweet fruit on pizza? It was a culinary masterpiece!

"Don't hate," Cara says but it comes out more like she's gurgling the food.

Apparently Daniel HATES Hawaiian pizza, I told that that just might be are deal breaker. Obviously a joke.

"How can you not like this delectable goodness?" I ask shocked while taking another large bite of my slice. I honestly didn't care what I did in front of him anymore.

"It's disgusting, I might not even be able to stand kissing you tonight!" He says dramatically while hearing his boring pepperoni pizza.

"Find by me," I shrug and turn fully to face Cara. "So love, got any plans Christmas night?" I ask excitedly. Cara loved going to my parents parties.

I'll admit I did to, but only because we got to wear really fancy dresses.

"Nah, the pack has this huge thing Christmas Eve but nothing the next day. Why?" She explains.

"Well my parents are having this Ice Ball party, y'know sparkling lights fake snow, and I was hoping you'd come. My mom texted me, it's even gonna be masked!" I cheer while give her my best puppy dog expression.

"That sounds so amazing! So Christmas Day?" I nod in approval. "Yeah I'm down, come in let's go upstairs and start looking for dresses!"

I nod excitedly and pick up my plate then grab her hand.

"What about me?" Daniel pouts "don't I get a kiss?"

"Sorry pal, pineapple breath." I joke and pull Cara up he stairs giggling. "So what color dress were you thinking?"

"I feel like everyone is going to go for the darker colors, so how would I look in like a baby blue color?" She asks. She headed to her closet, her voice growing quieter as she went.

Probably looking for her laptop.

"You'd so rock that, it'd really bring out the color of your eyes." I smile and look up to her. She didn't have Daniels shocking dark blue eyes, but more of a light blue like the shallow part of an ocean. And her hair was light brown, liked her mother.

"I was thinking white for you, kind of like an angel look. And most of the people there would probably never think of wearing it, they aren't pure." Cara says, jumping beside me and the bed and pulling open her laptop.

"And I'm pure?" I snort.

"Wait have you and Daniel?" Her eyes are wide and she looks panicked.

"Dude chill, no we haven't. All we've done is made out, that's were I draw the line. I want my first time with him to be special." Cara's face scrunched sup in disgust. "Sorry, I probably shouldn't talk about my sex life whilst dating your brother."

"Yeah, lets steer away from the topic. I say we find our masks first then try to find a dress to go with it." Cara's fingers move unbelievably fast over her keys.

"I agree."

When I woke up it was still incredibly dark. Where was my phone? Fishing around me, I find it underneath a pillow. 3:24 am.

Why was I up so early? Turning on my side I notice Cara not in the bed with me. I didn't come home last night, did I?

Liking around and seeing purple walls instead of white, I conclude I was definitely in her room.

"Cara?" Rolling out of the bed I head to her door. "Cara?" I whisper-yell again, hoping my friend was here.

I practically jump out of my skin when the door swings open. "Fuck you scared me!" I whisper, my hand was on my chest feeling my heart beat incredibly fast.

"What are you doing up?" She asks, and edge in her voice.

"I just woke up and you weren't there, came to find you." I explain while looking at her. She was fully dressed, not in her clothes from yesterday, and had her phone clenched tightly in her hands. "What are you doing up?"

"Just doing my rounds, helping the guards out with perimeter checks. Come on let's go back to bed."

Drained of energy and craving a soft pillow I nod in agreement and let her lead me to the bed. When we lay down I look over at her, she was already looking at me. Eyes full of sorrow.

"Cara, what's wrong? Are you okay?" I ask full of worry.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's just go to sleep."

I happily oblige.
