"Gone? Just vanished?"

"Yes sir," he young wolf in front of me says, while dropping his gaze. "We were chasing him down by the south border, when his scent just dropped and he wasn't in front of us anymore."

Was that even possible. I mean rogues had tricks up their sleeves, but they aren't that good.

"I'll think it over," running my hands over my face I sigh. "Spread the word, pack meeting tonight. Just the higher ranks, we need to figure out this rogue problem."

"Yes, alpha."

Ever since I've been back the number of rogues has been unbelievable. Attacks, sneaking past our borders, killing humans and other wolves.

"You'll get it, hun." My mom walks in with a plate of food and lemonade. "Just take a breather from all of this, you've been locked in this damn office for almost a week." She laughs softly and sits in the chair on the other side of my desk. "How's your sister?"

I groan loudly and slump in my chair, yet another problem.

"She still refuses to talk to me," I say while rolling my eyes. The other day when she wigged out on Serena, she ran off. Avoided all of us, didn't answer calls, hid her scent, and hasn't come home.

"And Serena?" My mother presses.

"Really?" I send her a look and she shrugs. "Avoiding me, trying to get Cara to talk to her." Mom purses her lips and picks at the papers on the desk. "You women are confusing!"

"Now Daniel, say that again and I'll make sure it's the last thing you say." She says before smacking my head and walking out. "Go talk to her!"

A small smiled spread across my face when Serena walked out of the school. She was an image of perfection, more than I ever though I deserved. She was a master piece. Every time we were together I learned something knew, and was drawn to her even more.

"What are you doing here?" Serena asks happily while jumping into my arms. Being apart for nearly a week was killing me. "Don't you have like business or something? Not that I'm not happy to see you or anything," she rushes at the end.

"Well, I decided we've been apart just a little to long." I pull her closer and place my face in the crook of her neck. "And I wanted to be with my mate." A small smirk spreads across my lips when she shivers slightly.

"Wait," she pushes me away. "Have you found Cara?" She narrows her eyes and crosses her arms. Wolf or not, I was kinda scared to answer her.

"Yeah... no." Her eyes become slits and I sigh. "How is it my fault she left?" I ask incredulously while throwing out my arms.  "Why should we have to avoid each other because she is having a tant-"

"One," she jams her finger into my chest. "You are her brother, so being her brother that is your main priority. I mean what's up with you people? Just 'cause your special you don't have to worry when someone goes missing? Well I'm not like that." Next she slaps my arm. "Second I'm her best friend, so I should begin directing all my attention on her. Seeing as it was or fight that caused her to leave, she's my priority not you."

I let out a low growl and she scowls me.

"Shut up,  now since we both have the urge to find her. I guess we can work together to find her. That's what a good friend and brother would do right?" She asks with a sweet smile.

"Yep, I think it is." I smile and open the car door for her. "After you."

I get this chapter seems short af, but I'm just kind of done right now. With finals and all this crap for student council and damn problems worth my friends. I don't know what I'm doing right now and I feel so... idk but I feel like crap but I'll try to update as soon as possible.
