I'm back! After like... idk how long. But! I worked on this chapter for a week. I mean it's not amaaazing, but better than nothing right?

"How do you guys do it?" Lupe's voice suddenly fills the silence of my room and I turn to look at her, dropping my magazine

"What exactly are you talking about?" I laugh and move into a sitting position. Curious as to what needed more explaining. A week ago she found about werewolves and since then I've been explaining to her what Daniel was explaining to me. "Daniel and I?"

"No," she shakes her head and drops her phone to the bed. "You and Cara. I mean she kind of went off on you and said some shit. How can you just forgive her like that?" She snaps her fingers to emphasize her point.

"I dunno, I guess I don't want to lose her." Shrugging I drop my head a little. "I've known since we were kids and she's been there for everything, especially after I began realizing I wasn't a priority to my parents. She stuck by my side and the idea of losing her is unfathomable. So yeah, not forgiving her was and never will be an option."

Lupe gives me a small smile and squeezes me knee slightly, but my mind wanders. That was my reason for forgiving her so quickly, why'd she forgive me?

"So where is your mate? Wow that's so weird! Mate, what are we in a movie?" Lupe giggles and falls back to play on her phone once again, probably texting Greyson. They've been together for a week now as well and she was beyond happy, which of course made me happy.

"At a pack meeting, they have to talk about some issues I guess. But enough about me, myself, and I. How are you and Greyson?" I ask with an over exaggerated voice. A smile instantly forms on her face and she blushes a deep red. Lupe blushing, never thought I'd see the day. "OMG! You're blushing, what happened?" I jump excitedly.

"Nothing to serious, but you know it's going really good. I mean nothing has changed since we were like best friends before, now we just kiss... a lot." Her face continues to glow red. "I mean I love him! I know we've been dating for a week, but like I said, we've known each other forever! And he's so sweet, and my parents love him, and he's so good with my little brother. What more could I ask for?"

I smile fondly and pull my magazine back to my face. She had been taking the whole werewolves are real fairly well considering it happened a week ago, but it wasn't to bad. I mean sure, now we know these massive beast live among us a one just so happens to be a raging psychopath. Just the thought of Zach makes my stomach churn and chest ache.

Was he going to do something? Should I be scared?

And it's not like I had much about the topic. Daniel, lovely Daniel. He had no problem explaining wolves to me, from how they came to be to the mate bond. But whenever I asked about what's going on with his pack he just closed off, said nothing I should bother myself with. Which pissed me off but I didn't let him know that.

"I just though of something," Lupe again blurts. I release a gasp a shock and put a hand to my chest mockingly, needless to say a pillow ended up in my face. "Do mates like mark each other? Y'know like in the books and all so people know you're his?" Lupe looks torn, curiosity, amusemt, skeptism, and discomfort all passing her face.

"H-honestly? I never thought about that," I mutter uncomfortably. "We haven't really talked about anything in the realm of... physical relations. Just getting to know each other." Picking at my blanket I mull it over, I'd heard his parents mention a mating ceremony and to my teenage mind it wasn't exactly... innocent. My face flames up. "We aren't there yet."

"Are you a virgin?!" She asks wildly while sitting up, wide eyed. "Not that it's a bad thing, I mean I just thought you and Zach..." her voice fades and I get her implied message.

"No, I'm not. But that doesn't mean I'm not nervous about it with him. We are suppose to have this 'bond' and he's older so like I'm just nervous." I stop and try not to think about how red my cheeks are right about now.

I've got to talk to Daniel.

"So, movie night?" I ask Cara as I droop on the locker beside hers. Monday's were the worst, sure it was early out, but it always dragged on.

"Sorry, I have plans." Her reply is curt and she turns away to begin her track down the hall and to the parking lot.

"Ooookay." I have to practically hog to keep up ah her long strides. "How about dinner tomorrow? We can go to that burger place." I offer.

"Sorry, got to study."

I let out a snort of laughter and try not fall. Cara? Studying? And I'm a freaking vampire.

"No judgement Cara, but when have you ever studied?" She just shrugs and I mentally punch her, hard. "Come on, I thought we were over all our drama? What's up?" I whine.

"Maybe I just realized not every minute of my life needs to be spent with you. Go run off with my brother, I will see you tomorrow." And with that she walks to one of the cars that came to take her home.

Well than.

"That looked rough," Elizabeth comments as step onto the field. "What's up Cara's butt this time?"

Lupe steps up with a questioning look. "Who knows, but right now I don't care. We've got to worry about practice. Let's go!"

Blowing the whistle Coach gave me, I bring the girls to the center of the field and begin their practice.

"Did you really have to works is so damn hard?" Lupe laughs as we leave the locker rooms. Everyone else was gone by now.

"I guess I shouldn't release my frustration on y'all, huh?" I laugh slightly. I'll admit I let my annoyance lead most of the practice. "I guess I just think it's off. When we got Cara the other day she was all about forgive and forget. And not two seconds later she is blowing me off. And has been acting, I don't know, sneaky I guess."

"Have you told Daniel?"

"Yeah, not going to happen. The last thing I need is to turn them against each other I've caused enough damage. I am most likely overthinking it all." I sigh heavily.

"Probably, get some rest S. I'll see you tomorrow." Lupe crosses to the opposite side of the lot and gets into her car.

I keep on to my. Since Daniel came home, not that I'm blaming him, it's been one thing after the other. Why couldn't it all just be simple?

"Hey beautiful."

Letting out  small scream, I turn and see Daniel sitting in the passenger side. "What he hell?!" Punching his arm (which hurt me more than it probably hurt him), I look at him waiting for answers. "Why are you in my car?"

"I got dinner." In his hand is a bag of Chinese takeout and in his face is an adorable smile.

Damn him and his cuteness.
