Spock sat alone in an auditorium. He had just finished a lecture for first year academy students on the process at which light travels through space. T'Mar entered the empty large room, slightly haunted by the vast size and emptiness.
"Thriving in a place like how you may be feeling?" She asked, breaking the deep silence that consumed the room before. Spock didn't even glance up, he just kept on writing.
"Mr. Spock?" T'Mar asked, walking down the steps to the floor."Nice to see you again Ms. T'Mar." Spock muttered, finishing his writing before he looked up.
"Research Mr. Spock?" T'Mar asked him, glancing over his shoulder at the PADD.
"Peculiar species, the narwhals. They became extinct over two-hundred years ago. An overgrown tooth protruded from their mouth' s, giving then the nickname of 'Sea Unicorn.' Fascinating species." Spock informed, turning the PADD off.
"Didn't you just give a lecture on the travel of light speed through space?" T'Mar asked, leaning against the edge of the desk.
"May I help you miss T'Mar?" Spock asked, starting to look a little annoyed at T'Mar.
"Just stopping by to say hello. I am thoroughly sorry if I am a annoyance to you sir. I'll see you later, maybe. Unless you don't want to." T'Mar said, her heart sinking. She tried to stand her position strong, but could tell she was starting to flail in her words. She turned to walk away, trying not to break down a little inside.
"T'Mar." Spock stated, standing up from his desk. T'Mar stopped in her tracks, slowly turning back.
"Yes Spock?" She asked, sarcasm filling her voice.
"I apologize for upsetting you. It was not my intent." Spock apologized, nodding his head and mentally cursing himself. He'd never been good with the interaction of humans, especially females. They seemed to get offended more easily and turn everything into a dramatic sequence. Spock was in practically no position to offer consent to one women or anyone. Consent is not something Vulcan's are good at.
"I could tell it was not your intent, but I did not appreciate the annoyed look sir." She sassed, smirking a little. Spock raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth a little before closing it again. "Speechless, aye sir?"T'Mar mocked a little.
"If your mockery is to elicit an emotional response from me, I can assure you it will not work." Spock answered, stuttering over his words a little. T'Mar didn't think it was possible for a Vulcan to stutter so much without a diagnosed speech problem. From what little she knew, children with problems such as speech are mocked and shunned by the other Vulcan's. She'd visited Vulcan once as a child and never wished to truly return, even though it was the world she belonged mostly to. The other children mocked her for acting human, despite looking Vulcan.
T'Mar had dark hair, almost black. Her ears were pointed like a Vulcan, her physiology like that of a Vulcan.
"It was not to get an emotional response out of you, that would be most fascinating, but it was not my original intent. I only wished for you to understand." T'Mar answered.
"Understand the concept of the human emotions in which you were raised?" Spock questioned, stepping away from the desk. His hands were at his back, standing perfectly straight. He strode in front of T'Mar; it was now she realized how much taller he was than her. At least 6' 2", making him nine inches taller than T'Mar. She was 5' 5".
"I suppose. Never mind Spock." She answered, shrugging. Spock raised an eyebrow again, rocking slightly on his heels.
"Alright." Spock said, sounding almost confused at her remark.
"See you later Spock. Nice talking to you." T'Mar said, trying to take all sarcasm out of her voice. Once she turned it on, it was hard to turn it off.
"I will look forward to our next visit." Spock answered, watching her walk away before going back to his work.
