Spock and T'Mar would consider themselves different things to one another. To T'Mar, Spock was a friend who happened to be similar to her physiologically. To Spock, T'Mar was an acquaintance. She was a friend, but not someone he considered close.

The two of them lived like that for a few weeks, meeting once a week for dinner. They would have what T'Mar would call 'Therapy' sessions. They would rant about problems and things, all feelings of each other and the people they were ranting about set aside. They would then offer advice and guidance to the other person. And when they parted, everything said was forgotten and never spoken about again outside of those 'sessions.'

Spock and T'Mar were similar opposites. They were similar in many many ways, more than either of them really cared to admit. Nikaniki and Coen joked constantly about them dating.

"Where's your partner Spock?" Coen teased, taking a seat beside Spock at lunch. He playfully punched the half Vulcan in the arm and laughed.

"Partner? If you are referring to T'Mar you will be disappointed to know that we are not in fact partners. If we were to work on a scientific or research project together, we would be considered partners. If we began to start a more romantic and intimate relationship we would be considered partners. But we are neither of those, therefore we are friends at the very most. I prefer the term acquaintances." Spock said, beginning to panic a little internally. Through all honesty, he liked T'Mar as a bit more than a friend. Although, Spock didn't know how to pursue such a relationship, so he didn't.

"Well then Spock... Little extensive lecture there." Nikaniki laughed, over hearing the whole speech from Spock. She sat across from him and just smiled.

"Extensive? It is under extensive in my opinion. I could've gone on for much longer, that was just the beginning of what I could've-" Spock was saying before T'Mar sat down beside him. Before he could say something else, she took one thing off his plate and popped it into her mouth. Spock didn't mind, they were getting much closer.

"I was thinking Spock, would you maybe like you go on an actual date? Like for romantic purpose?" T"Mar blurted out, mentally cursing herself the instant the words came out of her mouth. Nikaniki and Coen looked at each other before slowly getting up and walking away.

Spock and T'Mar awkwardly stared at the table in silence, neither of them wanting to break the deep silence between them. Spock opened his mouth as if to say something, but he never did. Tears welled in T'Mar's eyes and she jumped up, running as far away from Spock as she could. He still couldn't move, his feet seemed to weigh a million pounds.

Later that night, T'Mar sat alone in her quarters. She still cried occasionally, cursing herself for ruining her relationship with Spock. The room was dark, blankets were strewn everywhere. Spock opened the door with the key T'Mar had given him and entered the dark room. He nearly tripped over T'Mar on the floor.

"I have an answer to your question." He told her, helping her get up. He flipped on the light and hugged her in the blankets. T'Mar didn't seem to acknowledge him. "My answer is not now. I like you as more than a...friend... but I do not wish to expand our relationship to greater levels quite yet. In the future, I gladly will."

"You-you will? I didn't screw us up?" T'Mar asked, smiling slightly. Spock quickly flashed a smile and T'Mar's heart fluttered. Spock only smiled a little for T'Mar and it made her feel extremely special.

"You didn't 'screw up' anything. I assure you, Vulcan's do not lie." Spock said, helping her up. T'Mar moved over to her bed and laid down, burying herself in blankets. Spock rubbed her back a little, unsure of what to do. Before either of them could say anything else, T'Mar was fast asleep in her mound of blankets.
