Two weeks, two long agonizing weeks have passed since Spock got hurt. And explosion in a chemical lab was the cause. His body was exposed to radioactive deadly chemicals as well as fire and the initial force of an explosion.
T'Mar found it hard to leave his bed side. She sat in an uncomfortable chair day and night, just waiting for Spock.
"T'Mar." Doctor McCoy said, slowly entering the room. His voice was soft and sympathetic, a voice she never hoped to hear.
"Yes?...." T'Mar questioned, slowly turning herself to face him in the hard chair.
"He has a slim chance, only one thing may bring him back. He loves you T'Mar, Spock does. He annoys me greatly yet you and him have a bond. A mind meld can bring him back, pull his mind out of the pit it's stuck in. Only you can do that successfully." McCoy informed all in one breath. He paused for a moment, breathing deep and letting T'Mar take in the new found responsibility and news.
"Anything. I'll do it." She almost instantly agreed, taking almost no time to think it through.
----Spock's Mind----
Darkness. Swimming in darkness. Consciousness internally, yet none externally.
Words came into his brain, jumbled words. None of the words made sense. All of them tended to come up randomly in no order
Fight.
Spock.
Good.
Food.
Hunger.
T'Mar.
Fight.
Fight.
Live.
Live.
Slowly fading....
Dying...
Darkness fading...
Spock was losing it, he was losing his fight. Suddenly, a voice broke the silence. I voice recognized. T'Mar.
"Spock, you may not be listening. You may be already too gone and I can't even reach you."
T'Mar's voice choked and broke as she progressed. It wasn't verbal, Spock wasn't hearing the words. They were being thrust into his mind without choice. He didn't have the strength to even attempt to rebound her voice.
"Anyway, we need you Spock. We all do. Most importantly, I need you. I really really do. What happened that one night, we didn't do anything I swear upon my life. Just hung out. I love you Spock. I always have loved you. I need you to be awake so I can love you even more, so we can get to know each other more. Spock. We all need you. Please be okay. Please wake up. The mind meld... It's exhausting me.... I have to go for now.... I will be back with hopes.... Fight it Spock... Wake up... Please.... I.. Love you..."
T'Mar's voice faded. Spock felt a warm hand leave his face and fall to the bed beside him as she most likely fell asleep.
He made up his mind, he was going to fight the darkness. Spock's mind and body was exhausted, but that wouldn't stop him.
~~~Two Weeks later--
It took weeks, two more long grueling weeks, for Spock to finally wake up. His eyes softly fluttered open, taking time to adjust to the light. Cautiously, Spock curled his fingers around a stiff bed sheet. He had mobility of his fingers and could feel the soft yet coarse fabric on his sensitive skin.
"Spock?" A small voice, T'Mar, asked. A weight was lifted from the right side of the bed by his hip, most likely where her head had been resting.
"Hello." Spock muttered quietly, his voice rough and hoarse. A coughing fit erupted from in his chest, causing him to sit upright fast and gag.
"Shhhh it's okay." T'Mar said, helping him sit upright and rubbing his back. Once Spock seemed to be able to sit upright by himself just fine, she got him a glass of cold water. He eagerly drank it, immediately regretting the decision as he threw up into a trash can by the bed.
"I'm sorry T'Mar." Spock apologized, sighing as he laid back in the bed. It took him a bit to notice his small appearance, he'd certainly lost weight.
"Don't be. It's okay. I love you Spock..." She muttered, smiling to herself and rubbing Spock's hand.
"T'Mar. I love you." Spock managed to say before he dozed off into sleep. It was amazing what coming out of a coma could do. He was more tired than ever.
"I love you too."
