"I would like to do a mind-meld to help understand better what is in your brain with your past with Colin."

T'Mar was stunned, unable to move or grasp the situation around her. Spock wanted to know about what happened with her and Colin. He knew she couldn't just tell him, she wasn't nearly strong enough to. The only way he would ever find out is by mind meld and looking into the depths of T'Mar's past and present memories of Colin Aaron.

"Spock... That's.. It's the only way you'd truly know... So maybe...I don't know..." T'Mar stuttered out, still trying to make up her mind wether or not this would go well.

"I could help better." Spock insisted, hoping the short statement would turn her around. Miraculously, it worked.

"Okay... But please... Promise I can rest today after and I don't have to go to class..." T'Mar negotiated, slowly beginning to nod her head.

"You don't have to. I will bring you your work." Spock instantly complied, knowing that the mind meld was the only way he would ever find out.

T'Mar swallowed nervously, running you hands anxiously through her hair. "Let's do this." T'Mar sighed, closing her eyes. She felt Spock's hand on her face, his fingers by her eye and temple. The palm of his hand was on her cheek, causing her to feel safe before a feeling of darkness yet confusion washed over her.

"I can't believe how hard that test was." T'Mar said, walking out of a class. She was thirteen years old, Coen was walking beside her. Despite being younger, her features seemed to be the same as they were as her twenty two year old self.

"It was ridiculous. I can't believe a science teacher would even give a test that hard. I mean, deep space is an easy topic to learn at our grade but seriously, at least give us a chance at a good grade!" Coen ranted, causing T'Mar to laugh.

Even during the mind-meld, Spock smiled slightly at the image of his close friend smiling. Something she hadn't genuinely done since Colin appeared.

"Exactly!" T'Mar explained, her hair bouncing as she walked. It was longer than it was now, almost down to her waist. Only a few inches above.

"Crazy." Coen agreed, the book book in his arms slipping from his grasp. "Oops. Go on ahead, I'll meet you at lunch."

"You sure?" T'Mar asked; Coen nodded. "Well see you soon. It's pizza day, I'll get you some if I can. You know how they run out fast."

T'Mar darted off toward the cafeteria, her hair jumping in every crazy direction. "That test was hard." Colin casually mentioned, getting in line behind T'Mar.

"Yeah. It was." T'Mar answered, starting to internally panic at Colin. He'd never really been nice to her ever.

"I wouldn't think so for you. Or maybe you're just getting dumber." Colin said, smiling and being polite to the people serving lunch. T'Mar got two pieces of pizza, one for her and one for Coen.

"I'm just as intelligent as anyone. No more no less." T'Mar responded, doing her best to keep a blank expression as to not give him the satisfaction.

"Wooooah two pieces. Like you needed to be any bigger." Colin teased, his eyes widening at the two pieces. That struck T'Mar deep. It wasn't like she had problems with her weight, it just wasn't a nice thing to hear.

"Two pieces is a normal amount for anyone. And besides, ones for my friend." T'Mar defended, doing her best to keep the hurt out of her voice.

"Oh. Why thank you." Colin answered, taking one of slices and putting most of it in his mouth. "Oh, this wasn't for your boyfriend was it?"

"It was for my friend. Not you. But I guess I'll just give him my piece." T'Mar answered again, tears beginning to well in her eyes. Not much of it had been mean as it could be, as she had heard before, but it always stung.

"NO!" T'Mar yelled, jumping away from Spock. Tears poured from her eyes like a waterfall, unable to stop. Her head throbbed and her whole body shook. That wasn't nearly as bad as it had ever gotten, but she refused to go deeper for how.

"T'Mar. T'Mar. T'Mar. Calm down it's okay." Spock repeated, standing by T'Mar to wait for her to calm down. She looked up at him, his face was blurred by the tears.

"Spock." Her voice broke; she fell into his arms. Spock sunk to the ground with her in his arms, rubbing soothing circles into her back.

"Remember, anything he's told you isn't true. The little I saw, you are above average. Not below. Not ordinary. Although, I would be just fine with any level of intelligence. And the weight, it's just fine. Nothing is wrong with it." Spock proclaimed to her, still running her back. He had began to rock back and forth to soothe her in any way he could.

"I know... I know..." T'Mar muttered, keeping her eyes closed. After twenty minutes of crying and staying in Spock's strong arms, T'Mar fell asleep. Spock thought of ways to help and to know more without pushing T'Mar too far.
