Baby - 01/20/16
"Like this?" Aphrodite shuffled her feet up and down and started slowly moving around the kitchen, her feet tapping a rapid rhythm on the linoleum.
"Yes, baby, like that!" Mitch laughed, watching from his own seat by the dining table.
"Mama, join!" She stopped her dancing and stood straight up, her hands at her sides. "Dance."
"Oh, I'm not sure about that, honey. I've still got some coffee left."
"Kah. Fee?" She padded closer and looked over the edge of the table at the mug. "Kah-kah. Kah-kee!?"
"No, no, not cookie. Cookies later."
"Later?"
He shook his head and picked her up. "Yes, later. What do you want to do now?"
A giggle rose from her as she hugged his arm. "Dance, clap." She wriggled out of his arms and landed on the floor again. "Annnd clap!" One foot lifted at the same time as her hands clapped. "And waise the whoof!" Her hands waved in the air.
Mitch heard laughter from around the corner, and Scott appeared, his hair wet from the shower. "Where did you learn that, Rodie?"
"Daddy!" The toddler ran across the floor as Scott scooped to pick her up. "Dance?"
"Did you ask Mama?"
"Ask. Mama!" She looked back at Mitch and shook her head, a little frown dimpling her chin. "Mama told me." Her gaze turned back to Scott. "Told me no."
Scott looked at Mitch, who rolled his eyes. "I just said I had some coffee left. She's being so dramatic, acting like I just scolded her."
"Where do you think she gets it from, hm?" He smiled at their baby girl. "That's okay. I'll dance with you."
"Yay!" She started wriggling again, and was soon set down gently on the ground so she could shuffle around the room. "Join!"
Scott could only laugh as he did the same, running in circles, as he winked at Mitch and mouthed a get over here. With a wave and an eye roll, the little family was soon pounding their stacatto rhythms on the floor, the beats mixing with the laughter and the love in the air.
FLUFF AF
I'm updating this a day late because I didn't get a chance to last night, and I apologize.
The drawing is the first sketch of an observational drawing I did in fifth period today of the view I had in the library. Not really cool, but I need it for my portfolio.
