Teacher's Pet, part II - 01/24/16
"Mac 'n' cheese?" the Doctor asked as the bag was opened to reveal two microwaveable meals. "Isn't that kind of gluten-full?"
"Not these. One hundred percent gluten-free." Rodie brought out a thermos and opened it, satisfied with the steam that came out. "Look, we don't even need a microwave."
"How intuitive!" he laughed, and they gave him a glare in response. "What?"
"Are you mocking me, Doctor?"
His eyes went wide. "No, of course not! I'm genuinely impressed. I wouldn't have thought of that."
"Oh. All right." They pulled a chair up to the desk and started assembling the food. "So what's up?"
He sighed and closed the book he had been looking at, the thud it made sounding rather ominous. "I just can't figure out what's going on here. There's definitely some alien activity, but I just can't pinpoint it." He caught Rodie's glance and hurried to correct himself again. "Obviously it's not you. You're around, but you're not radiating this aura of ill intent I'm getting from somewhere else."
They stirred the pasta and nodded. "I wasn't going to say otherwise. I trust you."
"I'm not sure that's always the best idea, but in this case, I think it is. So tell me. Have you seen anyone that could be a native Ashikiean?"
Rodie's eyes seemed to immediately grow larger. "You didn't tell me you thought it could be Ashikiean."
"Yes, well. Looks like you've got some research to do."
Ugh this was so short I'm sorry.
The drawing is a more finalized but not finished sketch of the troye thing.
