"Look, I just need you for a few more hours."

"Hours?!" I pushed him and his clingy hands out of the car.

"Well... tonight. When the party's over, you can go home, but you'll need to be in class again tomorrow."

"This isn't what I signed up for, Mitchy." I scrambled out after him, pocketed my keys, hoped nobody would try to swipe them from me.

He looked up at me through eyelashes thick with mascara. "It is what you signed up for, Scotty. You signed up to be my boyfriend." He glued himself to my side again as we neared the door of the house already pulsing with strobe lights and subwoofer bass drops.

"Can we just find a dark corner and..." I trailed off as his smirk grew. "That's - that's not what I'm saying."

"That's totally what you're saying. I knew you liked me." He opened the door and the lights and noise took me into its thorny embrace. It was already piercing my head, forcing its way into every hole it could find. "Do you want a drink?"

"No, I'm going to be the responsible boyfriend here." I all but dragged him as far from the speakers as I possibly could, unfortunately closer to the smell of alcohol. "You can get a drink, but I'll sit here and you can sit on my lap, okay, babe?" I spit the pet name out of my mouth, not yet used to the teenage-y carelessness of it.

Mitch laughed, and I was reminded of why I'd agreed to his offer in the first place - that first night over at his house, when he'd shown me his more vulnerable side, when he'd laughed without restraint and I'd seen his smile. Don't get me wrong, he didn't spill his entire life story to me. But I knew enough to feel a bit more comfortable with doing this. This... this thing. This relationship thing.

I'd zoned out. Mitch was back, with a plastic cup in his hands, sliding into my lap and nuzzling his nose into my neck. His lips were soft on my skin as he mumbled, "Here's to another night with you, Scotty."

Idek what this was.

Attached is a color kinda-head-shot of my OC, Rodie, from the past two updates. It's my drawing for the day and I used only Faber-Castell beeswax crayons. Haha, crayons. That takes you back to kindergarten.
