There are some things I would give anything to forget about.
Meeting him, is at the top of that list.
"Now, what brings you to Pikoro m'lady?"
"I-", I had hesitated, I wasn't ready to explain why I was in Pikoro. I had been going village to village, searching for Dante. But I didn't want to tell him that, so I kept my explanation as vague as possible, "I've been looking for someone."
"I see, now, might I ask who might you be looking for?"
"I don't believe that's any of your business."
"Very well, can I have your name at least?"
As my eyes met his, my heart skipped a beat, feeling like every cliche love story in existence, "Amethyst."
"What an interesting name, a beautiful one at that." He had winked.
I had rolled my eyes to stop myself from getting lost in his, "I think I'll be leaving now, sorry for wasting your time."
I had begun to walk away-
"Wait!" He had grabbed my wrist.
His fingers had felt warm against my skin.
I yanked my hand away, "Don't touch me."
I began walking away again.
He ran in front of me, blocking my exit.
"W-wait! Look, I'm sorry, can we start over? I'm Jaxon, by the way." He held out his hand.
I studied him for a bit, his jet black hair was disheveled and untamed, but appeared windswept to me at the time. His eyes welcoming, his smile charming...
I took his hand.
