Chapter 29- Suspicions

"What in the name of Irene is that?" 

Aphmau and Dante had brought Garroth, Laurance, and I, a mysterious amulet that had just been created only moments before.

The amulet had been carefully laid out on a table in the guard station.

"I'm not sure," Aphmau replied, "Dante and I were speaking with Zoey when all of a sudden, the necklace that cursed Alexis and the pendant that bore Leona came together, and the next thing we knew, this amulet had formed."

"This is concerning," Garroth tapped his chin, "Laurance, Dante, Amethyst, round up anyone who may have an idea as to what this amulet is and send them here. We need to determine if this amulet is something that we should worry about or not."

The Next Day...

"Garroth?" I knocked on his door.

No answer.

I knocked again.

"Garroth, it's Amethyst, is everything okay?"

Still no reply.

"I guess he really is sick..." I thought to myself.

This is so weird, when I'd seen him yesterday, he seemed perfectly fine to me, but now... I don't know...

Why is everyone acting so weird?

First Dante, now Garroth, who's next?

I decided to leave Garroth alone and climbed down to the first floor of the station to see Dante and Cadenza waiting for me.

"Nothing?" Dante asked.

I shook my head, "Nothing, the door's still locked and he won't answer me."

"I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, I'm sure that Garroth will be fine, just give him some time. But just in case, I'll be here keeping watch over him." Cadenza smiled.

Dante nodded, "Thank you Cadenza, your help is greatly appreciated," He turned to me, "I best be heading out now, with Garroth sick and Laurance settling that dispute, I'd better head over to Lady Aphmau's house to inform her of our situation."

I smiled wearily, "Alright, take care Dante."

Once Dante had left, it was just me and Cadenza.

Oh, and Cookie of course.

I leaned against the wall and my shoulders sunk.

"Something on your mind?" Cadenza inquired.

I looked towards her, "Hm? Oh, um... It's nothing, really, don't worry about it..."

"That's not what the look on your face is saying."

I really wasn't in the mood for an interrogation so I just gave up.

I sighed, "Fine, I guess it couldn't hurt to tell someone about this."

"I'm all ears."

"It's just... I'm worried about Dante..."

Cadenza raised an eyebrow, "Really? Why?"

"The other day, Aphmau told me that Dante had been acting kind of strange in the woods," I explained, "And when I asked him about it, he just kinda shrugged it off as if it were nothing."

"Maybe it was nothing."

I shrugged, "Maybe, but I can't help but feel like he's keeping something from me... The last time he did that, well... Let's just say that things didn't end up too well..."

"I understand that you're concerned for Dante, if it was Laurance, I'd feel the same way. Actually, if it was Laurance, I would've pried the information out of him by now, haha! But I understand that you aren't the type to go snooping around in other people's business. Anyway, I think that when Dante is ready to tell you what's going on, he will." Cadenza reassured me.

I smiled, "Thanks Cadenza, I will admit, it's pretty cool to have another girl to talk to."

"Anytime Am, so now that that's been settled," She began to smirk, "I want to know more about you and Laurance-"

Quickly Amethyst! Escape while you have the chance!

"Oh wow, would you look at the time, I should really be going, good talk Cadenza, BYE!" I rushed off.

"AMETHYST!"
