As I sat in the carriage of the train, watching the view go by, I can't help but think what I may find in London. 'It's certainly a dangerous place from what I've heard, especially with the Grand Master the Templars have chosen. However, no matter how long it takes, he will fall.' I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of footsteps approaching where I was sitting. I looked around and saw two men walking towards me, both wearing red coats, both with a look of intimidation. I could tell that they were both bad news. I shrunk back in my seat and held my breath, hoping that they would pass me. However, luck was not on my side as they came closer and closer.
"Well, well, well, look what we have here." One of the men said.
"Where you off to love?" I mentally cringed as the other guy talked to me, leaned towards me, too close for comfort. I looked away from both men, acting like a shy girl, hoping that they will leave me alone. Unfortunately for me, I was the only who was on this part of the train, not a single soul in sight. I let out a sigh as I realised that they weren't going to leave me alone. "Well love, you going to answer us?"
"I-I'm off to L-London." I stuttered, hoping that they will believe my shy girl act.
"London? Now, why would a fragile girl like you want to go to a dangerous place."The first guy said to me and I could feel anger course through my veins at the words 'fragile girl.' I was tempted to flick my wrist and plunge my hidden blade into his throat, however, I contained myself, not wanting to give myself away.
"W-Well, I have f-family there. M-My mother died not too long ago, a-and I have nowhere else to go."Ok, that was partially true as mother had died. However, the first part was a lie as I don't have family in London.
"Oh, we're so sorry to hear that." The second guy said as he leaned in real close, his arm brushing against mine. "What the?" His eyes locked onto my wrist and I knew that my secret was discovered.
"Assassin!" The first guy shouted as he reached into his coat and pulled out a dagger, the other doing the same. I swiftly got up from my seat and pulled out my Initiate's Cane Sword, preparing for a fight. The first guy swung his dagger my way, aiming for my stomach and I ducked under his arm and hit him in the stomach, knocking the breath out of him. While he was trying to recover, I quickly turned to the other guy and pulled out the handle of my weapon, throwing it into his head, killing him instantly. Then, I flicked my wrist, revealing my hidden blade and slit the first guys throat, killing him as well. Finally, I walked over to the second guy, grabbed the handle of my cane sword, put it back where it belongs and put it away. Once it was securely hidden, i picked up the bodies, one at a time, and threw them off the train, not wanting anyone to know they were dead. I was just about to sit back down when I noticed that I arrived to London. I jumped out of the carriage and began to look around. 'I have never seen so many people before.' I thought. Suddenly, a child ran into me.
"So sorry Miss." Before I could say anything, he ran off. However, I noticed that my pocket, that was filled with my money, was suddenly empty.
"Hey, give that back!" I yelled out as I began chasing him. I weaved my way through many people, hoping to catch the thief. 'God, he is fast.' I thought as I ran. As I was running, I found myself in an alleyway. I had spotted boy just up ahead, but before I could get to him, four men in red coats had stopped me. 'Great, more of these guys. Can't I just get a break?'
"Well, well, well, look what we have here." The first guy said.
"This is our territory." The second guy said as they all began to advance, slowly starting to surround me. As quick as lightning, I grabbed a throwing knife and threw it at the closest guy, killing him instantly. "Another assassin? Our Grand Master wants you assassins dead." I grabbed another throwing knife, twirling it in my hand.
"Well then, he's going to be very disappointed." Before anyone could speak, I threw the knife at the guy who spoke, throwing it straight into his chest. He slowly fell to the ground, taking his last breath. The other two guys charged straight at me, swinging their weapons at me. I dodged both of their attacks and threw a smoke bomb, blinding them, if only for a few moments. I flicked my wrist and slit their throats, killing them instantly and quietly.
"My, that is quite the skill you possess." Someone spoke and I turned around, seeing a man, with black hair and brown eyes, standing there.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Henry Green. Judging by your weapons and skill, you're an assassin, like me."
"That's right. My name is (Name) (Last Name) and I've just recently arrived from Croyden. I've heard that London is in desperate need of help, so I'm here to assist in anyway that I can."
"That's great to hear, we need all the help we can get."
"Are you the only assassin here in London?"
"I was until just recently. Two other assassins, the Frye twins, arrived just recently as well. Why don't you follow me back to my curio shop? I'll introduce you to them."
'Ok, but before we go, who were those guys in the red coats? This is the second time today I've encountered them."
"You've encountered them before?"
"Yeah, on the train. Once they knew I was an assassin, they tried to kill me, but ultimately failed."
"And you will definately encounter many more. They are known as Blighters, the viscous gang that you will find practically everywhere around London as they control the boroughs."
"Sounds like we need to be careful for the time being."
"Yes. Speaking of which, we should probably get going."
"Alright, lead the way." With the end of our conversation, he began walking, to which I followed him. The whole time there was nothing but silence, which didn't bother me since we had to be very careful. 'I'd rather not fight anymore Blighters if I can help it.' Not too long later, we arrived to our destination where two people looked to be waiting. Henry walked further in while I stuck to the shadows, observing the people in front of me.
"Where did you disappear off to, Greenie?" The man, who has slicked back, brown hair, brown eyes, a scar on his right eyebrow and wearing a top hat, said to Henry. 'Well, doesn't he look handsome.' I thought as I looked at him.
"Jacob." The girl, who also has brown hair, green eyes and freckles on her face, said to the man, Jacob I presume.
"It's alright Evie." Henry said the the girl, who is obviously Evie. "It was a good thing I went out actually. I happen to have stumbled upon another assassin."
"Really, then where are they?" Jacob said as I stayed hidden. Henry began to look around and, after sometime, his eyes found mine. I lifted a finger to my lips, signally for him to be quiet. He gave me a slight nod and turned back towards Jacob and Evie.
"Don't worry, you'll meet her soon." As he spoke, I made my way, very quietly, behind the twins, waiting for the right time to make my presence known.
"At least we have more help now." I decided that now would be the time to introduce myself.
"That you do." The twins jumped at the sound of my voice and turned around.
"How long have you been standing there?" Jacob said as he placed a hand on his chest.
"More like how did we not notice you were there?" Evie said.
"Stealth is something I mastered at a young age, I've had plenty of time to practise and to perfect. Anyway, nice to meet you Jacob and Evie Frye, my name is (Name)."
