Jacob's POV
After finding out just who my target is, I decided to find Freddy and fill him in. I managed to locate where he is and met up with on the rooftop of the Mansion House.
"Well? What say you?" Was the first thing he said to me.
"You're not gonna like it." Was my reply.
"Now, see here, I am graced with the Abberline family's robust constitution."
"Twopenny is robbing the Bank of England." He coughed as he smoked his pipe.
"The governor of the bank? I think I might need to sit down."
"There's no time for that, bastard's probably deep in the vault by now.
"However you get in, I don't want to know."
"Of course. But, do you know how I can get in?"
"The bank is designed to protect England's gold reserves – a fortress guarded under lock and key. There is the bank manager, Mr. Osborne. Only he is allowed free access to the vault. You can spot him near the entrance. And, oh yes, one man keeps a close watch on the vault door, he watches if like a hawk. If he sees you, he's sure to seal it. The guard captain, Gus Howard, knows Twopenny well. He is in on this, I'm certain. Mr. Frye, please, use discretion. The only way to implicate Twopenny is to catch him in the act. Do not jeopardise him, no big displays. This is the Bank of England. If you encounter any trouble, I'll be in the atrium – in disguise." After that explanation, he begins to leave.
"Twopenny won't be leaving that vault." I said as I climbed down the building and made my way towards the bank. Upon entering, I spotted Freddy in the atrium, as he said he would be found, and walked up to him.
"Mr. Howard had worked as Mr. Twopenny's guard captain for years. He can tell you where to find him. The only one who can command the guards in the front of the door, is the bank manager. I should warn you, a man watches over the vault and will close it at the first sign of trouble." He reminded me.
"Right, understood." Was all I said before walking towards the bank's main hall. "Ooh, fancy. Fitting for Twopenny's tomb." I said before hearing one of the employees speak out.
"Last chance for the official tour! See the inner workings of this thrilling marvel of commerce!" I stood there for a few moments, thinking over my next course of action. "The official bank tour is leaving soon! Last chance to join our group and learn of the great wonders of the banking world!" I was just about to join in on the tour, before catching sight of the bank manager who appeared to be talking with a customer. Deciding to listen in on the conversation, I walked towards them and stood as close as I can to without arousing any suspicion.
"I'll be with you shortly, sir. Ah, so good to see you again, sir. My apologies for keeping you waiting." He said to one person before turning to another who seemed to be waiting patiently.
"Thank goodness you're here. My bank's Irish interests are being damaged by those damned Fenians!" The customer said.
"Now, now, I'll take you in and you'll see everything is perfectly secure." The manager and the customer begin to walk off, with me following not too far behind them. It wasn't long before they arrive to what appears to be the record room. "The accounting appears impeccable, my dear sir. I shall update our ledgers accordingly. Do you require assistance in any other matter?" He said after checking out the records.
"No thank you." The customer said before they both left the room.
"I thank you for your time, good sir. Enjoy the day."
