Day 1
"Is she awake?"
"She's waking up!"
"Here we go."
"Shutup she's awake!"
I blinked my eyes to make the blurry picture more clear. I was sitting in a huge room with rows and rows of computers with people typing away at them. The two men who had swept me up like a tornado were standing to the right and left of me holding down my shoulders. A tall thin blonde woman stood bending over with her hand pressed I her knees like she was talking to a toddler. She looked at me happy and full of hope.
I looked the opposite.
I wanted to scream. I wanted to cry. I wanted to say something.
But nothing happened.
I sat in bewilderment as I remembered the events that had just occurred. I had so many questions I wanted to ask but my mouth just wouldn't seem to shape the words."Let go of her boys, you're scaring her." The blonde woman said sternly to the two men.
She was right, they were scaring me. Everything was scaring me."Don't try to run now child. Even if you tried you wouldn't get very far." She had a sweet southern accent that made her less intimidating. But I was still worried.
"Now first of all, we didn't kidnap you." She stood up straight.
Oh well that's nice.
"We actually had your parents permission."
What? My parents did this?
"Actually-that sounds worse. They didn't ask us to take you or anything. It's not like they didn't want you. Oh my gosh! That sounded horrible! Uh-um- I'm not even supposed to be explained where you are and such. My job is to make you feel comfortable and safe. Do you feel comfortable and safe?" She smiled brightly.
I just looked at her.
"Guess not. Well anywho, I'm Miss Kelly. I'm in charge of you girls."
Girls?
"Let me introduce you to the 'head lady' around here. C'mon darling."
I didn't stand.
"C'mon, I won't bite." She stretched out her hand to me.
I took her hand and slowly stood up. She seemed trustworthy. Wow. I'm going off of 'seemed trustworthy' after I just got swept up and taken to who knows where.
We walked down a long hallway to find this 'head lady'. I felt like I was in a school front office. There were rooms everywhere that had people's names on the doors in gold lettering.
"Here we are. Miss Genevieve's office!" She held her arm out gesturing me in the room.
Office? More like the Oval Office.
The room was very big. Almost like a living room. There was a big carpet in the center of the room with a symbol on it. A blue bird holding an olive branch with it's beak. There was a huge brown wooden desk with a computer and all kinds of materials on it. Two chairs sat in front of the desk. At the desk young woman sat typing on the large computer.
I sat down in one of the chairs.
"Miss Genevieve, this is the newest recruit." Kelly said calmly.
"Lucy." She added. Her tone of voice changed. She sounded more stern and affirmative."Thank you Miss Kelly. I'll handle it from here." The woman finally lifted her head from her work. She had long wavy black hair that fit her face perfectly. She had high cheekbones and and dark blue eyes.
Kelly smiled at me one more time before she left and shut the door behind her.
"Good morning Miss Navarro." Miss Genevieve smiled as she clapped her hands together.
