"So where are we going?" Asia asked as Sonnet pulled her hand.

" Well, whenever we need a bath we usually go to the river so I'll just take you there. Don't worry, the water is clean and it's private,"Sonnet answered and led her to a small river in the valley. Asia got into the river and took a bath. The water was actually warm and she was able to see her reflection in the water. Her brown, almost black, hair was longer than Asia had ever left it, it went down mid torso and was a bit tangled. Her blue eyes tinged at the edges with purple, a trait that not even scientists could explain were stark. Asia's body was pale and thin. She looked weak and frail.

Finally, Sonnet came and tossed Asia a towel and some clothes from the other side of the folded Chinese style wall. She dried her body and used the brush from her backpack to fix her hair.

Then Asia made her way to the wooden fort in the center of the camp hoping to find Will, Janelle, or Sonnet there. She didn't see any of them but she did notice a boy that was, probably her age if not older, talking with a girl that looked 17. The boy was grinning at the girl but the girl looked furious and argued with him.
"Sorry to interrupt but could you please help me find Janelle," Asia asked.
The boy turned her way. His dark blonde hair was cropped to the side and he had shiny blue eyes. He's cute. The girl had glossy auburn dark red hair and her hair was slightly curly. She had the same blue eyes as the other boy. Siblings? Her pale white skin had several scars and they weren't covered up. She was really beautiful and then Asia began to feel a tinge of jealousy.
"Hello there. You must be Wills girlfriend. I'm his best friend Ford and Janelle isn't here," he said with a grin. "And this is Darcy-"
"I can make my own introductions Ford!" Darcy yelled and turned towards Asia before elbowing Ford. "Sorry, my brother can be very annoying. My name's Darcy and I can help you find Janelle."
"Oh thanks, my names Asia Slade. And I'm not Wills girlfriend. He just saved me from a crazy zombie and the shot me," Asia quickly said.

"I wouldn't be surprised if you are soon," Ford said with a wink and left.

"So Will saved you from a zombie?" Darcy asked with curiosity.

"Yeah. He shot her - it- in the back and then shot me when he saw I was scratched," I answered and immediately began to regret mentioning the scratch.

Darcy ' s face was edged with new wariness and caution.

"So why are you here?"

"Because the scratch is gone and I haven't gone crazy like I should have."

"Well if Will trusts you then I do too," Darcy said and nodded her head. " I've known him for only 2 years but we're pretty close."

"Are you dating?" She blurted out. Asia hadn't thought first but her jealousy of Darcy was growing.
You can't seriously have a crush on Will can you Asia? I just met him about an hour ago and he's been rude and shot you.

Darcy giggled but then said, "I'm not dating Will. No one is. He can be a jerk sometimes but he's like another older brother to me. He and Ford both look out for me and I love Will but he can be cold and distant."

"Oh I noticed," she replied with a smile.

"Oh we're here," Darcy said.

They had arrived at one of the tents set up around the camp. By the looks of it, this was a medical tent and it was slightly larger than the other tents.
"I gotta go but if you need anything, I'll help," Darcy said and left.

Asia made her way to the tent and found Will talking to Janelle and a younger boy who looked 18 or so. He had cropped light brown hair and she could see the muscles on his arm. Why are all the guys so hot here?

Asia made her way to them but tripped. The other boy had caught her and helped her up. She blushed with rogue and she saw Will in the background staring at her. She supposed that she looked much better now. She was wearing a Navy blue tank top with shorts and her jacket was thrown on top. Night was coming and she was getting cold. Are you jealous Will?
"Are you okay dear?" Janelle asked and began talking. "I just spoke with our doctor and he will take a look at you. I was just coming to get you."

"I got a little lost but Sonnet, Ford, and Darcy helped." I replied.

Well, Ford hadn't really helped, he was more unhelpful.

"That's good. There aren't many kids here at the fort. I'm glad you met them. And this is my son Wade."

"Hello. I'm Wade Gray. As you can might guess, Janelle is my mother," he said as an introduction.

"Nice to meet you Wade. My name is Asia Slade," Asia said back and held her hand out for Wade to shake.

That's how you greet someone right? Asia hadn't interacted with another human being since Fey had gone and she had abandoned her search for her mother.

"I think we should get her to Dr. Ashton quickly. Her transformation could have just been delayed," muttered Will from behind Janelle.
Jerk. Are you always like this?
"Oh yes. You're right. This way Miss Slade."

Asia followed Janelle to a man near a system of medical equipment. Wade and Will stayed back. Will was already leaving though.

"Hi Miss Slade. This is a very interesting case you have here. You must be something special," he said with a smile and helped Asia onto a a small cot.
Yeah. I guess I am pretty special. And thank the stars that I'm okay.

Dr. Ashton took a blood sample and gasped.

"This is odd."

"What is?"

"It seems that you do indeed have zomtoxin in you dear, but you don't seem to be turning. I guess you are immune."
