Part 20: Of Fire & Zomtoxin

Will woke up in a cave. He rubbed his head, the last thing he could remember was seeing Asia... He moved to stand but was pushed back down. His body was sore and throbbing now.

"Don't get up, and don't talk or I'll kill you," Asia told him, "blink twice if you understand."

Will did nothing. He didn't understand at all. Asia sighed, "Fine, be that way. But this is what you need to know, I've been turned. Lady Lucien, head of the zombies has mutated the injection and gave injected me. I'm like you now Will, I'm a zombie," she said with a smile. Will shivered, not from the cold, Asia must have figured out his story already too. "You can talk now."

"You were my trap, but Lady Lucien doesn't have me. What happened?" Will whispered.

"I drew you into my trap all right, but I didn't want to kill you like Lady Lucien told me to. You know I love you Will. Join me, run away with me. We can leave it all behind," Asia pleaded.

"No," he said harshly, he was angry. Will hated to say it. That was all he'd ever wanted since the moment he'd met Asia, to run away together and be happy. Leaving all this chaos behind, but things weren't going to be like that, it was near impossible now. His heart broke when he saw Asia flinch.

"Why?" Asia said, more demanding than questioning.

"Because you've changed. Let me help you, Asia, our friends are out there right now, fighting for their lives," Will replied. Then he realized that he had no idea how long it'd been since he'd blacked out.

"Don't fret, you were only out for maybe 5 minutes. They're still fighting outside. And no, I like this power," Asia said, "I'm powerful. You should understand Will."

"I love you Asia," Will murmured.

"I do too," Asia said. Will leaned forward to kiss Asia. Asia kissed him back, Will savored the moment and then he hit his head as hard as he could've to Asia's. It worked, surprisingly, and Asia fell but Will caught her in his arms. "I will save you Asia," Will whispered into her ear and kissed her forehead.

Will was going to save Asia the only way he knew he could, he'd do what had been done to him once, he would take out the zomtoxin.

Will laid Asia on the table. He'd made it in successfuly in and found what looked like a lab. He had to be quick because Asia could awaken at any moment and attack him.

Will found an empty string about the size of his middle finger. He turned around only to find Asia gone. Shit. Will quickly turned around and saw Asia's fist about to collide with his face. He ducked down and grabbed Asia's arm and twisted it, he kept the syringe far away from her.

Asia pulled her arm out of his grasp and turned around. Will ducked under Asia's arm and he swept his feet in a motion and tripped her. She stumbled back into the wall and hissed. She lunged onto him. They both fell onto the table, the glass containers shattering. Will dropped the syringe. There was blood in his mouth and he could feel his zombie side coming out. He'd have to be careful.

"Asia stop this please. I know you can, you're stronger than anyone I've ever met and I'm not talking about your zombie strength, I'm talking about your will. You defied Lady Lucien, sure you intended to hurt me too but-"

"I never meant to hurt you Will, I love you," she was tearing up.

"I love you Asia Slade, and if you really love me too then let me up. Let me help you," he whispered. He searched her eyes for her humanity. And then he saw the spark. Asia was still in there somewhere.

"No." The spark was gone. Asia lifted her hand to bring down a shard of glass on Will. It would kill him, but he lifted his arm and held it there. He was holding onto Asia's arm.

"Let go Asia, I know you can stop this. Our friends are out there right now Asia. Janelle and the others have came too Asia. They've come for you, and me, and the rest of us here. Tell me Lady Lucien's plan, please." Asia eyes were boring into his. Maybe she would let Will go but there was such a small chance.

"I'm sorry," Will whispered and with all his force, stuck the syringe in Asia's side. He pulled and saw as the green fluid filled the syringe. Asia fell to the floor, using her arms to support herself. She was breathing hard and Will saw that she was still conscious. Asia screamed, it was horrible. The worst sound Will had ever heard it shattered his heart like glass. She was in agony, then Will realized with a shock that she might not survive this.

Asia was lost. She was in pain and she felt it destroying her. Her humanity was fighting a battle with the injection. Asia wanted to give up, to just give in to the darkness. All she had to do was let go.

Will knelt down beside her. "Asia listen to me, listen to me. You cannot die okay. You have to live. I need you to live. Please Asia, don't let it destroy you. If i could survive it then you can too. Please, Asia, live for me. Because if you die then, I'm gonna kill you," then he smiled a sad smile.

Will was right. She could survive this, she would not die like this. Asia fought, memories flooded her mind that instant. Memories of Fey, memories of her, Darcy, and Sonnet talking like there wasn't an apocalypse, and her and Will. Those kisses of fire and zomtoxin, the kisses that destroyed her and created her.

"Asia Slade, I love you with all my heart and I will not let you die. Come back to me," Will said quietly and he kissed her once on the lips, a light kiss."You'll get the rest when you wake up." Asia opened her eyes, she saw Will grin.

"You're-" but Asia had place her lips back onto Will's already. This was not a light kiss and neither of them were very careful. Then she tasted blood, he'd bit her lip."Will!"

"I did not mean to do that. It was my zombie side," he explained.

She laughed, "Maybe it was mine." Then she got serious again. "Will Lady Lucien told me her plan. We need to be fast."

"What is it?"

"She plans on using this weather machine to rain pure zomtoxin on the skins of everyone on Earth. It's acidic and no human will be able to shield themselves from it. The whole world will be turned Will. We need to destroy the machine."
