There were torches of fire hung on the surrounding ring of trees and lights strung across them like webs. It was really beautiful. People walked around, talking to each other. Some just sat at the middle of the camp, keeping warm by the bonfire.
Asia smiled. "Looks nice doesn't it Asia?" Darcy asked her.
"It's lovely," she murmured.
"Where do you think Will could be?" Darcy mused.
"Can I talk girl to girl with you right now Darcy?" Asia asked.
"Spill it Asia," Darcy said.
"I don't know what me and Will are."
"Explain."
"I feel like he doesn't trust me or something. He just hid such a big secret from me. I didn't even find out from him. Lady Lucien practically told me. And things have been going so fast and wild these past few hours, I just need to talk to him but I'm scared we'll get into a fight or something and break our fragile relationship."
"Then you need to talk to him," Darcy said.
"Maybe I'll find him later tonight," Asia sighed.
"But in the meantime, let's go dance," Darcy exclaimed and pulled Asia to the dance area.
"There's music?"
"Yep!" She said and then began to dance.
Asia laughed, "How are you so good at this?"
"Come on Asia, just move your legs and arms!" Darcy shouted back.
You could see little kids running around the dance floor and other kids their age were also dancing. Asia tried to dance along to the music but then almost tripped on a twig.
"Asia, you're so bad at this," she laughed, "Here, copy me."
Darcy began to do a simple dance, rhythmic steps and swinging her arms to the beat. Asia could see others beginning to look at Darcy. She saw some boy's gazes linger too. Darcy did look beautiful. She'd decided to take out her braid last minute and now there were small waves in her hair.
Asia mimicked her moves, Darcy grinned at her. But then she tripped in her heels. Asia moved forward to help steady Darcy but then, out of nowhere, Wade showed up and caught Darcy.
"Hello there," Darcy smiled.
"And here I was thinking you could dance," Wade teased and released her. He was wearing a blue collared long sleeved shirt and black pants. His hair was unkempt.
Darcy flipped her hair, "Those boys over there seem to think so."
And indeed the boys that had been staring at Darcy earlier were still looking over.
Wade grinned, "I'd kill anyone who tried to kiss you."
"Please, I can handle them."
"I suppose it's not their fault you're so gorgeous anyways," Wade said with a smile.
Asia saw Darcy blush. She felt a little intruding, watching them flirt.
"Darcy, I think I forgot something in our tent," Asia lied.
Darcy mouthed "Thank you" to Asia and then she left. She mouthed back "Good luck". Asia was about to go look for Will or Ford but then Janelle and Silas appeared and made their way to Asia.
"You look lovely Asia!" Janelle mused. Her orange-chestnut hair was loose of it's usual ponytail and wearing a beautiful sleeveless buttoned blue blouse. She was also wearing black leather pants underneath. Her arm was hooked around her husband's.
Silas was wearing a white polo shirt and khakis, his brown hair moused to the side.
"You look amazing too Janelle. And thank you again for rescuing me. I don't know how to thank you."
Silas beamed at Asia and Janelle said, "Of course Asia! You're almost family to us, we're glad you're okay."
Asia replied, "Well thank you again. And I love the decorations Janelle, the lanterns look beautiful."
"Thank you, Silas helped me put it together."
"It was your idea though honey," he said and smiled admiringly at his wife.
"We just wanted to do something to celebrate our victory, but it's not over yet." Janelle got serious again.
"No, it's not. But I'm sure we'll prevail. And, I have to ask you something," Asia began, "Do you know who Will really is?"
Janelle nodded, "Yes. He never told me but I suspected it."
Asia nodded. Janelle looked to her husband and whispered something in his ear. He kissed her on the forehead and then he walked away after giving Asia one last smile.
"Tell me what happened," she said.
Then Asia explained what happened. She didn't leave out a single detail. She told her about Lucien's plan, Asia being injected, Will having to save her, and Sonnet. Asia saw Janelle's heart break when she told her about what happened to Sonnet and she gasped.
"Oh dear," Janelle said and placed a hand on her chest.
"I don't think she's really betrayed us yet Janelle," Asia said, "She couldn't have. You couldn't see it but she was still in there. I think Sonnet's pretending to be loyal."
"I hope so, Sonnet has been with us for only a few months but I treat her like my daughter. I think of you all as my children," Janelle said. Then in a lighter tone said, "Especially Will. He was so rude and unfriendly when he came here. But I think he did it so that we wouldn't get to close to him. He is still a child, he was scared he might loose control of his zombie side and it'd take whole control of him."
Asia nodded, "That's how he was with me when I first met him. He was so cold and unfeeling."
"He's Will."
Asia agreed. He was Will, he was her Will, and she was his. "Do you know where he is Janelle?"
"No, but I hope you find him," Janelle said and began walking away but then paused.
"Do you love him?" she asked Asia.
"Yes, I believe I do."
"Don't break his heart," Janelle said softly and then left Asia.
Asia walked over to the bonfire and sat down. She watched the flames spark in the night. She felt different too. She guessed she would have to learn self control. Her zombie side had not totally vanished and Asia hoped she'd be able to tame it.
She didn't feel evil herself but there were some moments when she'd felt extra hyper. When she woke up with Will this morning and had seen his expression, she'd wanted him. She'd desired him and it almost made her attack him. Asia honestly feared that she would kill him but she hid the thoughts well and shoved them down into the depths of her mind.
Asia stood up and went to get some punch. She picked up a pink lemonade and took a sip. It was a little sour but sweet nonetheless. She turned around and was about to walk straight into Will. She dropped her cup but ,lightning fast, Will caught it with a grin and smiled at her.
He was wearing a dark navy blue & white collared, but the collar was open, short sleeved shirt. He was wearing black pants and blue high top shoes.
"Hey there beautiful," he smirked.
"Hey there handsome."
"Red suits you."
"Anyone can pull off black," she retorted.
He laughed, "But not like me," he teased and ran a hand through his dark brown, almost black, hair. But he was right, no one could pull it off like him.
"You missed me dancing," Asia said and crossed her arms, "It was quite the sight."
"I bet you were tripping most of the time," he remarked.
"Please, I was making them trip," she said.
He laughed once and then got a little more serious, "Can we talk?"
She nodded, "Sure."
