Asia woke up with a start. She heard a siren blare and bolted up. Sonnet wasn't here and Asia was a mess. She ran out of the tent. People were grabbing guns off a rack and marching to circle the valley. She spotted Darcy, Ford, Wade, Sonnet, and Will spread out along the perimeter. They were still in their white T-shirts and sleeping pants. Asia didn't know who to go to so she went to Will. He had been kind to me last night.

"Will, what's going on?," she asked once she got to him.

"It's an attack drill, you should go back to your tent," he replied. "You aren't prepared for this yet."

He hadn't even looked at her. "Can you show me what to do?" she asked.

"No. Go back to your tent Asia. And don't come back out."

"No! I can do this too!"

"Dear God Asia! You're so stubborn! It's a wonder you're still alive! I mean you couldn't even keep Fey alive."

Will was facing away from the woods now and looking straight into her eyes.  Asia's eyes stung with tears of that reminder of Fey. Wait, how does he know about Fey? She hadn't told anyone about her and the only place he could know about Fey would be in ...

"You read my journal!?!?!" Asia was furious. She had left her backpack back in the woods that day and she had only brought her jacket with her. Asia expected to see regret and embarrassment in his eyes but he had turned away.  She absolutely lost it. Asia tackled him to the ground. The nearest person was at least a 10 yards away and she didn't hesitate as she pushed Will into the trees. Will had fallen and Asia was furiously trying to hurt him but he had grabbed her wrists and had turned himself. Asia was now on the ground and Will was on top of her. The dawning light had hit his eyes so that they shined red and wild.

"Don't ever do that again." His voice was low and filled with warning.

He stood up and began walking out of the trees but Asia had lunged at him. He had expected it and pinned her against a tree. Her body hurt and Asia was starting to loose her consciousness. Then he bit her. He had bit her shoulder and she screamed  It hurt like hell. She was fully conscious now and had the strength to push him away. He looked frightened of what he had done. What the heck? And then to apologize.

"I'm so sorry, Asia. I didn't mean to -"

"You're sick!" She screamed in his face and ran back to her tent. She cries to herself in there. It's like last night hadn't even happened. I liked that Will but the one she had seen today was more like the Will she had first met. Asia had decided that she should go bathe and so she left the tent. Everyone was back to normal after the practice attack. She remembered seeing some clothes in tent B and went there to get a new outfit and a towel. She picked out a red tank and some dark wash jeans. Asia bathed quickly because she was still uncomfortable about bathing in a river. She also hadn't bathed since she had fled the orphanage. I wonder what they do in the winter?

Then she noticed that everyone was walking towards the entrance of the valley. She spotted Darcy and asked her what was happening.

"Today is Wednesday and it's a scout day. Though, we're a little behind because of this mornings test . Half of the camp is going to scout out the woods today. The other half is going to stay here and recheck our defenses. You should stay."

"No, I can go. I'll be okay," Asia assured her.
"I guess that your partner will be able to protect you. It can't be me though because I'm already Fords partner."

Janelle was addressing the camp and she began pairing us up. Asia had already persuaded Janelle to let her go and it had been hard but eventually she agreed.

"Ford, Darcy"

"Wade, Damien"

"Ava, Ben"

She continued to list off more names. Then Asia heard her name.

"Asia, Will"

Hell, no.

Will walked over to her and gave a sly grin. "This'll be fun."
