Ford and Darcy fought side by side. Darcy had lost sight of Sonnet and Wade but they were probably somewhere close. Darcy brought her blade down again on the zombie as Ford shot another arrowm. He quickly put another arrow in again and fired at another zombie.

Darcy grunted. A zombie tried to grab for her but she ducked down and swiped its legs off. She wiped her forehead. She was tired. Zombies came from every angle, ruthlessly.

It was a shock that Ford and Darcy had managed to stay together. She looked at her brother, he was also sweating. She could see the worry in his eyes. He was afraid, so was Darcy. She wasn't easily scared but this was bad. They were overpowered, but Darcy would keep fighting until she died. And if she was scratched, no she shouldn't thinking that.

"Darcy?" Ford asked.

"Are you okay?"

Ford laughed, "I'm about to be killed by zombies and you're asking if I'm okay? No Darcy, I'm not. I'm not okay. We're not going to survive, are we?" He shot another zombie and it fell.

"We can't Ford. It's not like we can just leave a path through the zombies and run. Plus, Will and Asia are relying on us. We can't give up," Darcy answered. But she was doubting herself. Could they really make it out, alive and human?

Then all of a sudden she felt something pushed her from the side and she fell. She scrambled back up but the zombie had kicked her hard in the hip. Darcy grunted but made a swipe. She missed and was kicked to the ground. Darcy tasted blood in her mouth.
"Darcy!" Ford shouted, but she couldn't see him anymore.

She heard the zombie, a woman, laugh. Darcy spat blood in its face. It stopped laughing and hissed. Darcy rolled out of the way. She stood up and sliced with her long sword. She missed again. It was fast.

Darcy lifted her sword again, but then lowered it. The zombie had fallen. Wade was standing right behind. Darcy launched at him and hugged him. She was so glad to see him.

"Wade, I like you," she had to tell him before she died.

He looked a little taken aback but then grinned and kissed Darcy like the battle wasn't even happening. It felt so good, Darcy wished that she had told him earlier. They could've had more time together.

He moved his lips back to speak, "I love you Darcy McKay. Will you go out with me?"

Darcy laughed, "Yes, but you really should've asked before."

"I know," he said and smiled. She kissed him again, she was in happy.

Sonnet shot another bullet with her crossbow. It landed in the chest of a zombie. Sonnet watched it falls and reloaded. She was alone, dodging zombies and shooting as fast as she could but accurately.

She was tired and scared. Then she realized that this could be the end. Then she saw him. It was Ford, he was shooting arrows with his bow. Sonnet ran over to him, shooting a zombie right behind him. Ford turned and looked. He saw her, he looked relieved and let out a breath.

Sonnet ran over to him. She turned her back against her so they fought side by side.

"You're alive," Ford remarked. "Sorry, that was dumb, of course you are. You're amazing you know."

Sonnet let another bullet fly. "Hey Ford, can I tell you something?"

"You're in love with me?" Ford laughed.

"Yes, I am. Now, we are probably about to die so, god help me, kiss me Ford," Sonnet said and turned around. She kissed him then. It was rough and fast. But Sonnet was smiling when they pulled away. "I think I have some strong feelings for you Sonnet Delanore," Ford said, he was grinning.

"So do I," Sonnet replied. Then turned quickly around to see a zombie lunging at her. But then the zombie fell, a hole in its back. She looked up, Janelle had fired it. Then she saw as the rest of Fort Resilient fell upon them with zombie strength. The tables have turned. They stood a chance now.

Will finally found the right cell. It was chaotic outside. He had felt a spark of hope when he'd realized that Fort Resilient had arrived to help, maybe they wouldn't all die.

"Asia? Are you in there?" Will asked. He kicked down the door and walked in. Asia was here, she was looking out the window. Asia turned around and saw Will. She smiled. She was wearing a simple green tee and some dirty jeans. Her hair was loose and her face dirty.

Will let out a sigh of relief.  "Will, what took you so long?" Asia teased. He kissed her deeply, but for some reason it felt like it was missing something, a spark. She was probably just weak.

"I found you Asia, Now we're gonna get out of here," he said and began to move towards the door. But Asia was still standing, she hadn't moved.

"Asia, are you okay?" Will was getting worried now. Why had the door been so easy to kick down? Why isn't Asia in chains? Why is she wearing new clothes, unless, it's a trap.

Will moved fast but Asia moved faster and pushed Will hard into the wall. He was looking consciousness already. Asia was strong, stronger than Will. Then he looked down and saw that Asia's eyes  flecked with red. And she was paler than normal. No, I was too late.
