After Aaliyah promised me that she wouldn't abort the baby and sell Ruthless, I told her that we need to get married so that she can takeover my company. She hesitated and started to cry.
"I dont care about having your money, I just want you here with me and our kids."
"I know baby. I'm gonna try to stay here as long as I can. I'm glad that you and the baby healthy. We need to get married and we need to do it now," I said.
"Where and how are we going to do it Eric? You can't get up, you can't even move."
"I know. That's why we're going to do it here."
I' ve arranged for us to get married with the doctors. Everything is ready. We have a pastor and my parents will be our witnesses.
Two hours later, the preacher and my parents walked into the room.
"Alright let's do this," he said while carrying a bible in his hand.
"Eric Wright, do you take Aaliyah Haughton to be your wedded wife? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health, remaining faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"
"I do," I replied.
"Aaliyah Haughton, do you take Eric Wright to be your wedded husband? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health, remaining faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
The pastor continued.
"By the power invested in me, in the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife."
