"Narima!"

Raion's voice rang out through the whole castle for the fifth time that week. He had been having nightmares about her and he could not sleep. Narima had run away, Gio had mysteriously disappeared, and his own sister had turned her back on him.

He was almost certain that they had planned Narima's escape together but Lana would not talk. Raion had sent his guards to look for Gio but they had only managed to locate the cave where his and Narima's clothes had been dumped. Raion was infuriated at the thought of Gio being intimate with his mate. Gio clearly had shown signs of interest for Narima since the start.

"Why would my best friend betray me?" Raion mumbled. "The only lion I thought I could trust in the whole damn pride! That back stabbing son of a bitch!"

He grabbed the nearest object within his reach and launched it across his room. His anger rose as his eyes glowed a bright blue. The air around him crackled with energy but he took a few deep breaths and relaxed. There was no point in him losing his temper now.

Raion raked his fingers through his hair remembering Gio's scent mixed with Narima's. He could not understand why his best friend had betrayed him in such a way. And Lana, his own flesh and blood, had turned against him. He knew she hated the idea of Narima being a werewolf but Raion did not care about species. He was happy with Narima and that is all that he cared for. He deserved to be happy!

"Fuck!" Raion growled angrily. "I need to find her. I need to get her back."

A small knock came from his bedroom door as it slowly creaked open.

"Pride Master Raion?"

Raion turned to look at a lone guard standing in the doorway, his fear clear on his face.

"What?" Raion snarled.

"The pride leaders are wanting to have a word with you later this morning." His voice was steady but he clearly did not want to be around Raion. "Elder Bronto has called you in for mandatory attendance."

"Elder Bronto?" Raion smiled. "So he's finally taking up his title?"

"I don't understand..." The guard shifted his weight uneasily.

"My father always wanted to be remembered as the greatest Pride Master the Golden Pride has ever had." Raion chuckled. "But now that I'm Pride Master, he has been demoted to elder."

Raion laughed as he dismissed the guard. He had never heard his father use the title of elder. The smile quickly faded as he was reminded of his mother.

"Why did she have to be the one to die and not him..?" Raion sighed as memories flooded his mind.

"Momma!" A young Raion ran to his mother's arms laughing as he tried to avoid his father. "Papa is being mean."

"Your papa is only trying to play, my little one." Raion's mother looked down at him with her soft blue eyes. "You need hide and hunt him down. Show him that you are a true lion."

"Ok!" Raion took off in search for his dad.

As he ran around, all the other pride members smiled. Their Pride Leaders had blessed them with a male heir. And with the second child on the way, they were sure to create stronger bonds with the other prides of the world. Prince Raion was already matched with princess Dove of the Diamond Pride in Ansi. Although he did not know of the union, there was no doubt the Golden Pride would thrive.

"Pride Master Bronto, we have some issues to address." An elder council member stopped him. "We need to have another meeting with the prides of Frika and Ansi."
