Narima had spent five years locked inside a small cage. The two lions that had captured her would move her from one safe house to the next, never staying in one place for long. The strong smells coming from each location seemed dull to her as she was slowly losing her will to live. In the time she had spent with them, Narima had noticed that the two lions were the ones responsible for all the deaths of the girls from Jack's mortal town.

The lions had taken her to all the clients that had previously bought mortals from them, but no one wanted Narima because she was vicious and hard to control. The lions were growing anxious as they traveled closer to their Pride Masters territory, still unsure if he would accept the she-wolf as a mortal.

Trey would be the one to always drop off her food tray. He was the kinder one of the two, but Narima hardly ate what he would bring her. She became dangerously thin and Trey was beginning to worry. Fang on the other hand was always rough with her. He would give her foul-tasting water that prevented her from shifting. She felt vulnerable in her mortal form and Fang knew it.

"Mmmm, you've grown up nicely..." Fang licked his lips. "Too bad I can't mess with the merchandise, or else I won't get paid."

Trey walked in and saw Fang drooling over Narima. He trailed his eyes downwards and saw someone was at attention. He sighed and wished Fang would stop fooling around and just agree to go to the Golden Pride now and not look for another client.

"Fang, go take a cold shower. She's not for you, remember?" Trey set down Narima's food and sighed when he saw her previous meal still uneaten. "You have to eat something, girl."

"I know she's not for me but if she continues to not eat, she will become mine." Fang growled low and stormed out.

Trey growled in annoyance and turned his attention to Narima.

"You can't survive by only drinking water." Trey picked up her empty water bottle and went to grab another one. "You know we're doing you a favor. We're handing you over to the most powerful lion in the world and you need to look presentable for him." He came back and handed her a fresh bottle. "As long as they don't find out you're a wolf, you will live for many years in wealth and comfort, you won't ever want to go back to your previous life."

Narima turned her empty eyes to look at Trey and growled weakly. Trey shook his head in disappointment.

"If you keep denying us, Fang will end up doing what he wants, and let me tell you, he's not a gentle lion." Trey left the fresh food and took back the old. "Just think about it. Our Pride Master is a kind lion and if you're the one he's after, he'll make you his queen. No one will ever hurt you. Or even try. He can be scary sometimes, but overall, a very kind lion."

Trey left the room and locked the door behind him. Narima looked at the food as hunger gnawed at her insides. She grabbed the water and drank it all. She gathered some of her strength to toss it to the other side of the room making a loud racket.

As usual, Fang stormed in with a whip in his hand. His eyes were enraged, and his head was damp from his shower.

"Why the hell are you making noise for!?" Fang hit the edge of the cage with the whip expecting Narima to cower in fear like usual. But this time she did not cringe or even blink.

"Oh, so you think you can act tough now?" Fang approached the cage and swung the door open. He raised his arm and lashed out with the whip, hitting Narima in the thigh. She let out a loud yelp of pain and Trey rushed in tackling Fang to the floor.
