Chapter 5, Part 2

Nathan’s POV

I absorbed way more than just a hug from Elsie because I knew her scent now and I knew that no matter where she ended up I’d still find her. After a few miles her scent became stronger and I sensed that I finally found her. She was sitting at the edge of a cliff with her legs crossed.

“Elsie?” I spoke up and she shot up from her spot on the ground looking panicked.

“What?” She practically sneered at me, but she still looked beautiful. I realized that everything was based on instincts, but to me it didn’t matter, I just gave in and knew I had to be with this girl. Though she clearly wasn’t having it.

Elsie then looked down at the ground, looking like she was thinking about something hard. She didn’t even notice me standing in front of her. I placed my hands on her shoulders, as if it would make her pay attention to me, and I felt her stiffen under my touch.

“I have this need to be in your life,” I said truthfully. I decided to let everything out.

“And what if I don’t want you to be in my life?” Was she really going to argue with me? With whatever was going on between us? I knew she was torn with her mind and her instincts.

“I don’t think I can fight this anymore, and I don’t think you can, too. You’re mine, Elsie. Don’t fight this,” I said softly. I personally didn’t care anymore. She seemed like a great woman, and besides, if any other male were to come into her life, I would’ve ripped his head off anyway. She’s mine--it's all meant to be.

She suddenly yelled at me, but I knew not to falter. “No! I will not be owned by anyone!” she yelled.

She pushed my hands off her shoulders forcefully and she began running again. She wasn’t fast enough though and I grabbed her arm and practically threw her onto the ground and held her wrists up.

“Stop! Can’t we talk this over?” I was starting to get frustrated, but I was trying my very best not to blow this out of proportion.

Elsie didn’t say anything more and we got lost in each other’s eyes. I wanted to kiss her, so I did. All I have to say is that it was the best kiss I’ve ever had. Since I became a vampire, I’ve had a few relationships, but all the while knowing that they weren’t whom I was meant to be with. Elsie’s the one.

I broke away from her, “Are you done fighting me? Yourself? You’re mine and I’m yours.” I felt myself getting lost in her eyes again. My trance was broken when she nodded and I couldn’t help but smirk because of two reasons: she was surrendering to me, and second, I was quite excited to get on with marking her as mine. I kissed down to her neck and soon I was drinking from her; it was just as I anticipated—such a sweet flavor, as odd as it sounded, but it was true. When I was done, I licked the spot on her neck to close the bite, but leaving a visible mark. I looked at her, silently telling her to do the same to me.

Elsie flipped us over and soon enough she was drinking from me. I winced at the sudden pain but it was taken over by a soothing feeling. I closed my eyes completely and let her take control; I couldn’t help but groan. I think I pouted a little when she finished. She looked me in the eyes briefly and stood up quickly and I gave her a look as I furrowed my eyebrows.

Whilst still on the ground I said, “Elsie?”

“I’m sorry.” She replied, and before I could say anything else she was already out of sight and running again. Of course I followed her lead.

A/N: I'll admit, this was awkward to write. Feel the awkwardness ahead in the next few chapters as well. :P Lovely ones, vote for sooner updates! xx
