Chapter Five | TextsThat was really strange. How could I just blink for one second and then all of a sudden he's gone? It's as if I had seen an illusion or something... but I could really feel it. This really scared me, and I don't know what I should do. I feel as if I'm going crazy or something...
"Catherine! Get in here please!" my mother yelled from the kitchen.
My mom doesn't usually yell, so I could already tell that this was bad. I ran into the kitchen, to see what was going on. "Yes?" I asked.
"Your grades in History are terrible. A C-, Catherine, really?!"
"Well at least it's..." I said quietly.
"What? What is it Catherine?" My mother asked.
"Passing...?" I said, sounding unsure.
"Okay, that's it, Catherine. Go to your room, now!" My mother yelled.
"Fine!" I screamed back as I ran upstairs to my room.
Why does she have to act this way all the time? I thought as I sat on my bed. Is there something going on that I don't know about? She's never usually this way.
[Time skip 5 hours]
My phone vibrated, which means I got a new message. Who could be texting me right now? Jennifer?
Unknown Number: I'm going to get you...
Me: Who is this?
Unknown Number: I'm going to haunt you...
Me: Who is this? How did you get my number?
Unknown Number: Do you really want to know who I am? I'm your biggest nightmare. 😈
Me: Leave me alone, I already know you're probably some stupid kid at school pranking me.
Unknown Number: Really? Are you sure?
Me: I'm not stupid, I know.
Unknown Number: Okay, fine. Ignore me, but I will haunt you every single day, so it will be impossible. Sweet dreams, you monster.
Sweet dreams, you monster? Is this guy some kind of amateur poet? I thought.
Even though my mother wanted me to improve my grades so badly, I guess, I didn't want to do any homework, because I was tired and lazy. So I fell asleep on my bed, not caring about anything else in the world.
Sweet dreams, you monster.
