Chapter Nine | The Accident
The bell rang seconds after, and it was time to go to my first period.
•In first period•
I walked into the classroom and sat in my seat. I was just minding my own business when...
"Are you stalking me?"
"What?" I said.
It was the dark haired, blue eyed boy again.
"I said, are you stalking me?" He said.
"No! Why the heck are you asking me this?" I said.
"Well, why were you staring at me around the lockers then?" He said.
"I wasn't staring at you!" I said. "I don't even know your name!"
"Catherine, are you done?" said the teacher. "I've been waiting to start class."
"Yes." I said.
"Okay, good." said my teacher. She then went on to explain the lesson.
[After School]
The last bell rang, and I got up from my seat and opened the door. This time, for some reason, I wasn't really in a rush to go home.
"Catherine!" A voice spoke behind me.
I turned around, and it was my friend Jennifer. We haven't really spoke in a while, ever since she's made the cheer team, I guess she's been busy.
"Hey!" I said.
"Hey! We haven't really talked in a while, huh?" said Jennifer.
"Yeah, it's been a while. How's cheer been?" I asked.
"Oh, I quit!" she said, still sounding all happy and cheery.
"Oh my gosh! When?" I asked.
"Just now! I haven't really been happy, and I've missed you lately, so that's why." Jennifer explained.
"Oh, okay. I was just walking home, wanna hang out at my house?" I asked.
"Sure!" Jennifer agreed.
•At Home•
"Oh, cool! You got a new kitchen! Man, I really haven't been here in a while." Jennifer said."
"Yeah," I said. "Wanna see my new room?"
"Yes!" said Jennifer.

"Woah! I love it! The baby blue walls, the couch, everything!" said Jennifer.
"Catherine, I'm home!" said my mother from downstairs.
We both walked downstairs to see my mother.
"Oh, hello Jennifer!" said my mother.
"Oh, Catherine! Do you want to go to my house to see Daisy?" said Jennifer.
"Sure, why not?" I said.
I love Daisy. She's the cutest dog ever, and she's been around since Jennifer and I were in first grade.

"Bye girls!" said my mother.
"Bye!" said Jennifer and I.
We were walking to Jennifer's house to see Daisy. I was so excited!

"She is so cute!" I said, while scratching Daisy's belly.
"I know, she really is a sweetheart, but she can be a handful." said Jennifer.
"I'll trade you, if you give me Daisy, I'll give you Abby." I said, joking.
"Deal." said Jennifer, giggling.
"Let's go take Daisy for a walk." said Jennifer.
"Now? It's almost 8:00." I said.
"Please?" said Jennifer.
"Fine." I gave in.

Jennifer and I were walking Daisy, chatting and laughing when I saw the dark haired, blue eyed boy.
"Hi Derek!" said Jennifer.
"You know him?" I said.
"Yeah, why? Do you know him?" Jennifer said.
"Well, it's a long story." I said.
"You like him." said Jennifer.
"What? No, Jennifer, he thinks I'm stalking him." I explained.
"What the...?" Jennifer muttered, obviously confused.
"Hey, Jennifer. Hey... oh, it's you." said Derek.
"Look, I'm not stalking you, so just leave me alone." I said.
"Yes, you are. Leave me alone, would you?" Derek said.
"You want me to leave you alone? Fine, I'll leave you alone." I stormed across the street.
"Catherine, wait!" said Jennifer.
I didn't listen to her. I didn't care. I heard someone honking their car. I didn't listen to that either.
"Catherine, no!" Jennifer screamed.
I heard the honking grow louder, and I was blinded by car headlights. It was too late.
For those that are confused: Yes, Catherine just got hit by a car.
