Today the judges from Baked are coming to Cambria. I'm actually not nervous but just anxious.
"Oh Jen imagine us being co-hosts for Baked?!" I say excited.
"And all those celebrities we would meet at award shows." Jen said
says dreamily."What time are the judges coming again?" I ask.
"The producers emailed me and said that those judges should be at our bakery around noon. It turns out we are going to be the first bakery, they're going to visit in Cambria." Jen replies while reviewing the email on her phone.
"We got this. We are going to impress them and they are going to love us." I say with confidence.
"I hope so." Jen replies.
Now all we had to do was wait for them.
********
-Noon-The judges should be at our bakery any minute now. I anxiously kept checking the clock.
Then a knock came at the bakery door. It had to be them!
"Jen! The judges are here!" I shout to her.
I waited for Jen to come out of the kitchen. Together we walked to the door of the bakery and I opened it. There stood three people. Two men and one woman.
"Hello, I'm one of the judges from the show Baked." A man with a grey suit spoke. "I bet you probably know why we're here." He flashes a pearly, white smile.
The man was young and probably in his late twenties, early thirties.
"Hi, I'm Marie Altman and this my friend, co-owner of Bake City." I answer while pointing to Jen.
"Hi, I'm Jen Johnston." Jen says introducing herself.
"Oh I'm sorry let me tell you my name." He didn't really need to since practically he was already famous enough to where everyone knows who he is.
"I'm Seth Myers, and these are the other judges of Baked." Seth says introducing the other judges.
"Hi, as you probably know I'm Nancy Rodgers another judge." The woman says introducing herself. She had light, brown hair and wore a black pant suit.
"And I'm Tate Wilson." The other man in a navy blue suit says.
"It's nice to meet you all please come in to our bakery." I say leading all three judges in.
"I love the color scheme you have in your bakery! So fresh and vibrant." Nancy compliments while looking around Bake City.
"Thank you!" Jen replies eagerly.
"Do you have any cakes, or other kinds of pastries we can sample?" Seth asks.
"Oh of course. Here." I say bringing over a tray full of different kinds of cake.
Each of the three judges took a piece of the sliced cake. In an instant I was greeted with compliments.
"This lemon cake is moist and the frosting just hits the spot." Tate says while diving into another piece of the cake.
"This triple chocolate cake is wonderful!" Seth adds in.
After the judges sampled all of the cakes Jen and I prepared, they took one last look around the bakery.
"Marie, Jen I have to say your bakery is just exquisite. Every pastry we have tasted is prepared perfectly ." Seth says.
"I agree with Seth on this. It's been a long time since I have seen a bakery that is worth coming back to." Nancy adds in.
"All I can say is that you have a good shot at winning this competition." Tate says.
"Why thank you! It's such a honor to have you guys come and see our bakery." Jen replies.
"Thank you for coming. It was lovely to have you here." I say.
"Well it looks it's time to head to our next bakery." Tate says checking his watch.
"Goodbye Marie, Bye Jen."Both Nancy and Tate said heading out the door of the bakery.
"Bye Jen." Seth says shaking Jen's hand.
Seth then walks up to me.
"Bye Marie" Seth says to me while shaking my hand. "Hopefully this won't be the last time I see you." He winks at me and hands me a piece paper, which I assume is probably his number. He then walks out the door and to meet up with the other judges.
"Oh my gosh Marie! They loved us! Even one of them has a thing for you!" Jen practically shouts with excitement.
"Oh come on Jen, Seth was just being nice." I say.
"Oh really, then what is that he handed you?"Jen asks slyly.
"His number." I answer quietly.
"You have to call him soon!" Jen says.
"No." I disagree.
"Did you see that jawline of his?! And not to mention he is thee Seth Myers famous Baker and Chef!" Jen adds in.
"Okay, okay he is kind of hot." I roll my eyes.
And with that Jen and I began baking cakes to sell for tomorrow.
