I sat in the bakery for about five minutes trying to process the events that had happened just a few minutes ago. What could this kiss mean? I thought. Could this mean a start of something?
While processing these thoughts, I looked out the window and saw Luke across the street trying to get the frosting off of his bakery. A pang of guilt hit me. I couldn't just sit there and do nothing.
I got up from my seat and headed out the door of Bake City. Once outside I crossed the street to Luke's Bakery.
"Hey." I spoke softly.
Luke jumped in surprise."Hi. What are you doing here?"
"I still feel really bad about this whole thing, so I'm going to help you clean up this mess." I explained to Luke.
"Really?" He asked.
"Really." I smiled.
Luke and I then got to work on scraping all of the frosting off the bakery. The whole process of cleaning up took about an hour and a half.
"Whew, that's finally the last of it." I said.
"Finally, that frosting was like glue. I felt like it was never going to come off." Luke replied exhausted.
When I looked back at Luke, I noticed that he had a glop of frosting on his nose. I then started laughing.
"What's so funny?" Luke asked annoyed.
"You have a huge glop of frosting on your nose." I said while still laughing.
Luke looked at his reflection in the mirror. He then used his hand to get the frosting off his nose.
"All gone?" He asked.
"All gone." I nodded.
All of sudden there was sound of high heels clacking against the sidewalk loudly until they stopped right behind Luke and me.
"Oh my god Luke! What happened here?" a female voice asked.
I turned and looked, I then saw that it was that blonde bimbo aka Luke's sister Emily.
"Just a unintentional prank that you caused." I replied coldly to his sister.
"Who are you? I didn't ask for your opinion."She asked.
"I'm Marie, you know the owner of that bakery across the street that you threw cupcakes at." I said with bitterness.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Emily scoffed.
"Emily, don't lie" Luke reprimanded his sister.
"Fine, I'm the one who threw those cupcakes at your bakery." Emily said as she rolled her eyes.
"No shit Sherlock." I said.
"You listen here and listen good, my brother has worked hard all his life to set up a bakery of his own and you will not take that away from him." She said filled with anger.
"I don't care that your bakery has been here longer. Yours is outdated." She added in rudely."
"Emily that's enough, I want you to pack up your shit from my house and go back to New York. You have overstayed your visit." Luke said defensively.
"Lukey I'm just trying to look out for you. You're my younger brother." She pleaded.
"That's not going to work, I want you out of my house and at the airport by the time I get back home after work." Luke said.
"Fine, take her side over your sister's."And with that Emily stormed off in anger.
"I'm so sorry the way my sister acted towards you." Luke said.
"It's alright don't worry about it." I replied reassuring Luke.
After Luke apologized for another fifty times, I headed back to my apartment to clean off from scraping the frosting off the windows.
