24. Those Eyes

Recap: Seth brings Marie to one of his restaurants. During a conversation, Seth's phone rings and he has to take the call. While he leaves to go answer his phone, Marie decides to take the time to glance around Seth's restaurant. While looking around, She spots a person she was hoping not to see.

Present

Two tables away from the table Seth and I were sitting at was Luke. He happened to be sitting with the she devil herself otherwise known as his sister Emily.

Seriously, you have to be at this restaurant?! I thought to myself.

Before I could turn my head away Luke sees me and we lock eyes for a few seconds. Getting uncomfortable, I turn my back to him and wait for Seth to return from his phone call. I could still feel Luke's icy blue eyes watching me.

Five minutes later, Seth returns with a sour face. Something must have happened on that call of his, to cause him to have that look.

"I'm so sorry Marie. This night was planned so perfectly but everything seems to just be falling apart." Seth apologizes profusely as he sits down in his chair.

"Seth, you don't need to apologize. Really, I'm having a great time with you." I say back to him, trying to get him to relax.

"Okay." He gives me a hint of a smile.

A few more minutes pass by before our food is served.

The waitress sets down the two plates of food and then leaves to go serve another table.

Looking down at my dinner plate, the whole meal looks delicious.

Taking a bite of the food all of the different flavors explode in my mouth.

"This is really good." I say to Seth before taking another bite of food.

He chuckles, "I'm glad you like it."

After dinner, Seth takes me for a walk on the beach by the restaurant.

"I'm having such a great time with you Marie." Seth says looking into my eyes.

"Me too." I smile back at him.

He then wraps his arm around my waist and brings me close to him.

"Hey-um, don't take this the wrong way but do you want go back to my place for a little while? We could watch a movie." Seth suggests.

Should I go back with him? I mean I am having a great time. Screw it, let's go back to his place.

"Sure, I would love to." I reply.

"Wonderful, let's go." Seth says taking my hand.

Along the way to Seth's house, I send a quick text to Jen saying that I'm going to be home a little bit late and to not wait up for me.

"Here we are." Seth announces pulling up to some gates. He rolls down the car window and types in a password. Seconds later the gates open and he pulls in.

"Oh my." I stare in awe as we drive up the long driveway leading to his house.

"Your house is huge!" I say staring at the home.

Seth smirks, "Wait till you see the inside."

After we pull into the garage that is separated from the house, Seth and I get out of the car and walk up to the front door of his house.

He digs around in his pockets for what I'm assuming is his keys.

"Crap, I must have forgotten the keys in the car. Eh I will just get the spare one." Seth mutters.

Seth then walks over to the water fountain that sits in front of the house. He does the most surprising thing ever and reaches into the water fountain for something. I watch him in fascination as he fishes around in the fountain until he pulls out a key.

"You keep your spare key in the water fountain?" I ask him trying not to laugh.

Seth laughs a little before answering me. "Yeah, I wanted to be the unique person who doesn't hide their spare key under a mat or in the bushes."

"Anyways, I think it's the best place to hide keys." He adds in.

Walking back to the front door, Seth puts the key in the lock and opens the door.

"After you." He says motioning me to go in.

As I walk in, I see such beautiful décor. This place is just so... so unexplainable. That's how great it was.

"So what do you think of the house." Seth asks me.

I turn around and see that he has been behind me the whole time.

"It's like a palace!" I reply with enthusiasm.

"Pfft this house is nowhere near close to my other one in Beverly Hills." Seth says.

"Well maybe you should show me that other house of yours some time." I bat my eyelashes.

"One day Marie. One day." He answers back.

"Come. Let's go pick out a movie to watch."

I follow after Seth through the large house. I quickly learn that he has a in home theater. Damn, is there a place where I can check into this house?
