"Marie, just do it already. Dial the damn number!" Jen practically yells.
Jen kept pressuring me all day to call Seth. To me it felt kind of wrong to call him, since he was a judge on Baked after all.
After a lot of coaxing I gave in and dialed Seth's number. Once I put the phone up to my ear, I listened to the number of rings on the phone. For some reason it helped me relax. After the third ring there was an answer.
"Hello?" A man's voice answers on the other end of the line.
"Um hi, Is this Seth?" I ask nervously, hoping that I didn't dial the wrong the number.
"Yes this is Seth. Who is this?" He asks me confusion.
"This is Marie, you know from the bakery Bake City?" I ask.
"Oh yeah, hi Marie. What's up?"
"Nothing much, I thought that I would give you a ring and see how you are." I reply still nervous.
"I'm doing good. Oh, um...since you called, I was wondering would you like to go out to dinner with me tomorrow night? Just as friends?" Seth asks in a nervous tone.
Hold it! Hold it right there. Did the Seth Myers just ask me to join him for dinner?!
There was a moment of silence before I replied.
"Yeah, sure. I would love to." I answer.
"That's great! What time do you want me to come pick you up?" Seth says happily.
"How's 7 pm?" I say.
"Perfect. See you then." He replies before hanging up.
I'm practically shocked yet still excited though about going out to dinner with Seth. Then I hear Jen yelling loudly breaking up my thoughts.
"Oh my gosh! He asked you out!" Jen jumps up and down.
"How did you know?" I ask confused.
"Marie, you know I always eavesdrop." Jen answers.
"Ah yes a wonderful quality I admire in you, anyways I'm just going out to dinner with him as friends." I say.
"For now." Jen laughs.
"Ugh, sometimes I don't know what to do with you." I mutter to myself.
"But you still love me because I'm your best friend." Jen says happily as she walks into the kitchen of our apartment.
My eyes get wide as saucers, damn she can hear everything!
