Once I got back inside the bakery, there was still a whole swarm full of customers. I then quickly put on my apron and helped Jen out with all the orders.
After Closing
"Hey, um what happened this morning, I didn't see you." Jen asks.
"... Please don't be mad but I went across the street to Luke's Bakery and rubbed in his face about all the customers we had today." I say really fast.
"What did you say?" Jen says confused.
I then repeat what I said a little slower. Jen then finally understands me.
"Really? What did he do when you told him?" Jen asks surprisingly interested.
"Well after I told him he looked pretty pissed, so I think we have a good chance of getting all our customers back." I say.
"Wow."
After talking about today's work, Jen and I close up for the night and head off to our apartment.
The Next Morning
It was 8:30 in the morning and I was already in the bakery setting things up and Jen was still upstairs in the apartment sleeping. Typical Jen, I thought. In the mornings it was mostly me taking care of the bakery while Jen practically slept in through the morning.
*knock, knock* I hear knocking on the bakery's door. This was weird, nobody really came around this hour. I then looked through the door and saw that it was the one and only Luke standing outside the bakery. What does he want? I ask myself.
After seeing Luke, I open the door to see what he wants from me.
"What are you doing here?" I ask rudely.
"Can I just talk to you for a minute?" Luke asks in a soft tone.
"Alright, come in but make it quick." I say rather stressed.
Luke then steps inside the bakery and heads over to one of the tables to sit down at. We both then sit in the chairs.
"Ok, you said you wanted to talk so talk." I say trying to hurry things up.
"Well I just wanted to tell you that I'm really sorry for the way I have been acting and I know that you're still probably angry at me." Luke apologizes.
Some things didn't seem to add up of why he was apologizing. He seemed more of the type of person to not really apologize.
"This kind of sudden. What happened to not wanting to see my face?"I ask.
"Well I have realized that there is no point in arguing."
Being the forgiving person I am, I forgave Luke.
"So I guess now you will lay off all those sales you've been having?" Luke asks.
"Hold on buddy, I thought you just came over here to mend our war, and for your information, I checked out those prices of yours and you overcharge people." I say now angry.
So this is why he came over here. If he thinks I'm going to back down, then he has another thing coming.
"You know what this was pointless coming over." He spats back.
"I guess it was." I say challenging him.
"Fine!"
"Fine!" I say.
This went on for a minute until Luke then shot straight out of his chair, knocking over the chair in the process and stormed out of the Bake City going back to his bakery. Ugh men I thought. He thinks that he can play me. We will see about that Luke.
