We were preparing to leave class. When somebody sat on top of my desk.

I closed my binder and looked up at a boy. He had his hands in his head twisting his hair.

" what's up with that number shawty?" He said to me.

I slightly jerked my head back taken back by his... Way of talking to me. I guess people really do think I'm a hoe.

I stared at him blankly not knowing what to say. I picked up my belongings and said. " I don't know you."

I walked away quickly almost tripping over Jill who put her foot in the aisle.

I twisted my lip to the side as I stared at her.

" fuck you lookin' at?" She asked me shrugging her shoulders as if she didn't purposely try to make me fall.

I took a deep breathe in. There was no sense of me arguing with her.

I proceeded to walk by.

I was wondering where I was going to put my book bag at since they haven't gave out lockers yet.

I felt arms wrap around my waist. As I quickly turn around to come face to hoodie,with Danny's Nike hoodie. I looked up at him.

" whats your next period." He asked me.

I pulled out my schedule from my pocket.

" science, what's yours."

He sucked his teeth before saying. " math."

I giggled. " I just came from math."

"What y'all do in there." He asked me as the warning bell sounded off.

" nothing just got to know other people." I quickly told him.

He nodded his head. And I turned to walk to my next class but he pulled me back and kissed me.

I smiled watching him race down the hall and then I remembered I had a class to go to.

The final bell rung as I neared my class door.

Dang... I thought as I knocked on the door to my next class

" late on the first day." She said opening the door.

I walked in. And looked around the class room anxious to see if Ya'ria was in this class but she wasn't. I saw Diana. But I chose a seat in the front.

" okay class I'm Mrs. Hammer, How many of you in this class choose an elective." She asked.

A lot of people raised their hands as I sat there confused.

" okay those of you who haven't raise your hand."

I did and about two other people. " keep your hands raised." She walked around and passed out a short piece a paper.

"Follow the directions."

I choose art and intro health care science.

She took them back up. And told us she would be back.

"Psss... Aye girl" I heard someone say. I didn't bother to turn around because he was probably talking to someone else.

He was talking to Diana. I pulled out my phone and texted Ya'ria asking her what class she was in.

She was currently in math along with Danny and Joshua. I wished I was in that class right now.

I quickly texted her back saying 'tell my boo I said hey.'
