I felt drowsy and a little nauseas as I opened my eyes only to clench them shut again. From the small glance at the room around me, I did no recognise it. Not only that, but the bed was much softer than my own one in the castle.
Peeking my eyes open again, I took a better look at the room around me. The floor was a whitish marbly colour and the walls were a similar colour but a little darker with the same faint patterning as my room. The furniture in the room was a deep reddish brown colour and most surfaces had at least one candle. At the foot of the bed and a small distance away, stood two large doors with small window panels in them leading to what must be a balcony. The bed itself was raised up on a platform with steps all around it to the floor.
As I stared around the room in complete awe, I felt the mattress below me shift slightly and the covers be tugged away. My eyes fell to a figure lying under the covers beside me.
I let out a yell and rolled away and off the bed to the floor. The marble floor was cold on my back which made me realise that I was bare chested. I found my shirt just as the other person - Ashton - stuck their head over the edge.
"Luke, why on earth are you on the floor?" He asked.
"W-why w-was I in y-your bed?" I countered quietly.
"Calum was beating you senseless so I brought you here and tended to the wounds." He replied casually.
I nodded slightly and stood from the floor.
"Why was I not wearing a shirt?" I asked.
"Oh, I had to remove it so I could clean the cuts on your chest." The prince replied.
"I-I'm going to be going now." I told him and turned to walk to the door.
"I'll see you and Faye at breakfast." Ashton replied.
I nodded and left even though I had no intention of staying.
Upon reaching Faye's room, I knocked and waited for her to open the door.
"I am leaving, come with me if you wish or stay here. Meet me at the stables soon if you wish to come." I told her and went to my own room.
After changing into the clothes that I was wearing down in the dungeons, they were clean now, and folded the clothes I was borrowing and placed them on the foot of the bed along with the shoes. I sighed and left my room. I walked quickly through the castle and finally to the stables. As I approached one of the stable workers, they bowed so I bowed back.
"I would like to retrieve my horse." I told them.
They nodded and led me to Sparrow's stall. "She yours?" They asked.
I nodded and stepped through the gate. The same stable hand gave me my old rope bridle which I carefully slipped onto the mare's face. We stood and waited a while for Faye but she didn't show, so I climbed up onto Sparrow's back. She let out a quiet neigh as I urged to walk out of the stall and into the courtyard. As soon as we were clear of the castle gates, we broke into a canter and sped along the streets to the woods.
After awhile we reached the river and slowed to a stop, I climbed off of Sparrow and took off her bridle. I knew that she would not stray far from where ever I set up so I left her to graze on the lush green grass.
As night fell I lit a small campfire on the rocks by the river to cook the rabbit I had caught earlier. I did not care that I had commuted treason, or that I left the castle without a word to anyone other than Faye. I wondered if Prince Ashton would be coming to look for me. I doubted it. He probably thought that I had gone back to my family... I won't be going back there, I don't even think he knows where my family lives.
Once finished I stamped out the fire and laid down in the soft grass near Sparrow. I let out a breathy sigh and shut my eyes to sleep.

"Mama! Look it's Luke!" A voice shouted from near by.
I sat bolt upright and looked around to find the source. It was Maria and mother.
"No it's not dear, Luke is in the dungeons." She told my little sister.
"Hello Elizabeth." I spat and stood up. I was angry at her for abandoning me without a second thought.
"Lucifer..." I whispered. "Oh I'm so sorry for leaving you! It was unbecoming of me." She sobbed into my shoulder as she stood with her arms around me.
I stood in her embrace not moving a muscle as he continued to cry.
"Lucifer? Say something please..." She pleaded but still I did not move.
I simply said, "I do not care Elizabeth, I am not your family anymore. You and Andrew said it yourselves."
And with that I left them standing there in shock while I rode Sparrow away from there.
"Luke!" It was Maria's cry this time, but I simply continued to ride away from them.
