It was the wedding day and the day that Ashton and I would have our coronation. I was far beyond nervous, I was terrified to the point of feeling sick. My knees were shaking and my palms coated in sweat despite Faye promising the day would go just fine.
"But what if - "
"Luke, shut up!" Faye sighed and handed me a deep purple coat with a gold trim and collar. "Now, put this on and the boots." She set those in front of me. I slipped the jacket on and stepped into the boots before turning to look in the full length mirror.
"I look ridiculous." I said flatly.
"No, you look handsome." The red haired girl corrected. "Do not tell Griffon I said that." She blushed.
"Do not worry Faye, my lips are sealed." I told her and stepped over to where her dress lay at the foot of my bed.
"Your turn." I smirked.
"Fine." She grumbled. I handed her the deep emerald gown which she took from my hands. I turned around so she could slip into it.
"Do I look okay?" She asked.
"You look amazing Faye, Griffon is a lucky man." I told her.
"So is Ashton." She chuckled.
"Oh hush." I scoffed. "He could have anyone.. I just don't know why he chose me.." I trailed off.
"Do not worry Luke, he loves you. He would not have proposed if he did not." Faye assured me as we walked to the side doors that led out and into the gardens. "I have been told that a servant will alert us when it is time." She said.
Faye was to walk me down the aisle since I had still not uttered a word to my family since being disowned by them. We stood and watched from between the flowers as the many guests found their seats and talked amongst each other. There were many people of high ranks but there were also the people of this kingdom. The kingdom I would lead at Ashton's side. Letting out a quiet sigh I stepped back from the plants and went to sit on a bench.
"Calm down Luke, you will be fine. Do not worry." Faye said yet again.
"D-Do you think Ashton is this frightened?" I asked.
"I do not doubt it." She replied.
I nodded and saw a servant walk over. "They are ready for you." They said before disappearing again. Faye looked up and smiling at me and held out her arm. I smiled back and linked my own arm with hers before we walked side by side into view of the crowd.
I could see Ashton standing at the end of the long purple carpet in a pair of deep purple trousers and a pale gold coat. His honey coloured hair was brushed from his eyes as he stared directly at me. I blushed, it was all I could do as I walked beside Faye.
All the guests were stood and all eyes were on us. This would be for sure the first homosexual royal wedding to have happened in this kingdom and surrounding kingdoms. Once we reached the end and were stood at the bottom of the steps below the altar, Faye reached up and kissed my cheek before whispering a quiet "good luck" and disappearing off to the side where Griffon stood.
I climbed the steps and stood beside Ashton. He looked even more beautiful up close.
"You may now be seated." The Priest said. I heard the crowd behind take their seats before he continued. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the love between our Prince and his... His lover." The man stumbled over his words and glanced apologetically at us.
"But no only are we celebrating their love, we will be crowning them the kings of Solaris." He said loudly to everyone in the gardens. There was a soft cheer before it fell silent again. As we went through the wedding ceremony I was in a daze until we had to exchange our vows. We had decided to create our own as the traditional ones were not us.
"Ashton... I love you and could never ask for a kinder or more caring lover. You always seemed to treat me fairly even before you knew me." I let out a faint chuckle. "You even treated me better even after finding me hunting in the woods and then again when you found me in the dungeons for stealing. You fought to get me out of any dilemma the came my way and I thank you for that. But that is not the reason I love you, I love you because you... You are my world. I do not care that you are prince and have the riches that I never had. You could have been a peasant with little wealth than me and I would still love you." I said to him and smiled slightly. We both had happy tears in our eyes as Ashton pulled out a piece of paper and read out his own vows.
"Luke, Lucifer, my love... I simply cannot fathom how I became so lucky to find someone like you. I do not, no, cannot regret anything I have done leading up to today. Because without that shaky string of events, we would not be standing here... And I do not want to ever see you leave. I can and will spend forever with you Lucifer Hemmings." Ashton said. He slipped the sheet back in its pocket before taking my hands. "I will love you forever." He whispered.
There was another speech from the Priest that I did not care to listen to until Faye and Griffon were called forward with the rings. Faye handed me a small purple box and stepped back to her place. I opened it carefully and pulled out the small gold band with an amethyst sun in it. "I love you Ashton." I told him and slipped the ring onto his finger.
"The ring is beautiful Luke." He said before a mischievous glint in his eyes appeared. "But not as beautiful as you."
I blushed and chuckled at his words as he opened his own box and pulled out a ring. Like the one on his own finger it was gold but had a moon made of amethyst instead. We were like the sun and the moon. Completely different but perfect for each other.
"Do you, Lucifer Robert Hemmings, take Ashton Fletcher Irwin to be your lawfully wedded husband in the eyes of god through sickness and health, the good times and the bad?" The Priest asked me.
"I do." I said and smiled down at Ashton.
"Do you, Ashton Fletcher Irwin take Lucifer Robert Hemmings to be your lawfully wedded husband in the eyes of god through sickness and health, the good times and the bad?" The Priest asked Ashton."I do." He replied. "I now pronounce you husband and husband." The Priest announced. I looked into Ashton's hazel eyes as he looked into my own blue ones. He started to lean up as I leaned down. Our lips met in a kiss as everyone watched. My eyes fluttering open as we pulled away.
"I love you Ash." I whispered.
"I love you too Lukey." He whispered back.
We kissed again before the Priest spoke up again, "Before we the festivities begin, we must crown out kings." He announced. I was in another dazed state as we went through all the formalities and answered where needed.
I had been taught to dance properly by the Queen so I was anxious to show Ashton that he would not have to teach me yet again and that we would not make a fool of ourselves. Ashton had to say another speech as he was royal blood. He looked so confident standing there saying his speech. He belonged in this life. I just hoped that I could adapt to it and become like him.
A pair of plush purple velvet pillows with a crown on each of them were brought forward by the Queen and.. My mother. I was shocked as I watched her walk forward. I released a shaky breath and knelt beside Ashton as they stopped at the base of the steps.
"You will do great, my son. I am truly sorry." She said as she lifted the crown from the pillow. She smiled down at me as she placed it upon my head as the Queen did the same with Ashton's own crown. We rose to our feet and looked out upon the crowd as they sang the kingdoms anthem which was led by the two of us. Later that night we and some fancy, wealthy and prestigious guests were all milling around the ballroom after the festivities had finished.
I was dragged away from a group of people who's names I had forgotten by Ashton. "Tower?" He asked.
"Tower." I agreed.
//HEY! I like this chapter :3
