Shopping in London with 4 boys with the mental age of about 5 was not a task I was looking forward to. They were like children. We were baby shopping.
"Rhi we need a cot for my place in London." Con said
"Con we are hardly there." I said
"But there needs to be one there." Con said
"Con, no there doesn't we can just get a travel cot, we'll need one when on tour anyway." I said
"Okay fine." Con said
We got a fair amount of clothes and ordered Lilly's cot.
We got home and I was so tired but there was so much to get done before baby arrived.
Over the couple of weeks while I was sorting and washing baby clothes and cot sheets. I left the boys including Michael, Ash and Luke in charge of sorting Lilly's room out. Something I found very funny.
Jodie and Charlotte had come round for the day to help with putting Lilly's clothes away.
"Rhi. Where's this going?" Jodie asked Holding up a lovely pink and red teddy bear blanket thing that James had got Lilly.
"Oh that goes in her cot." I said I was sorting out the hospital bag ready.
"Okay." Jodie said
It was a lovely afternoon spent with Jodie and Charlotte putting all of Lilly's things away.
29th May 2022
I was now only 2 weeks from my due date and getting really uncomfortable I couldn't wait for her to arrive now. I was sat on the sofa Con was in the kitchen making dinner and James was messing around with his Harry Potter Lego set that I'd got him for Christmas.
"Having fun over there James?" I said getting up and walking over to the dining room table where James was sat
"Yeah thanks." James said smiling he was like a kid again.
I just laughed.
I went up stairs for a lie down I'd been feeling awful for a few days so I went for a sleep.
"Babe?" Connor said coming up stairs
"Yeah?" I said
"You okay?" Connor asked
"Yeah. Just think I might be in labour." I said
"What?" He said
"Yeah. By stomach hurts and the pain is coming in waves." I said
"Okay babe." He said coming to sit on the bed next to me
"What do you want to do?" Con asked
"Stay at home for as long as possible." I said
"Okay babe." He said he was staying really calm. A lot calmer than I was expecting.
"Yeah. I think getting up is a bad idea so I'm going to stay here for a bit." I said
Connor lent down to kiss me.
"She okay con?" James said when Connor went down
"Yeah. She's fine just hasn't slept for a couple of days she tired." Con said
"Oh." James said
It was a further 3 hours before the pain got unbearable it was just gone half 3 in the afternoon.
"Come on babe." Con said helping me down to the stairs and toward the car. Both Con and James were really calm and I was surprised at how calm they were.
"James can you grab the hospital bag please." I said getting in the car.
"Yeah. Is it in Lilly's room?" James said
"Yeah and so is her teddy." I said
James appeared 5 minutes later with the hospital bag and the teddy he had got her.
"Nice one James." I said smiling
We got to the hospital and they were there waiting for us.
"Hello. I'm Clare I'll be your midwife. How far apart are the contractions?" Clare asked when we got into the delivery room
"About 2 minutes." I said
"Okay." Clare said
She prod and poked me then said "your about 9 cm so it won't be very long."
"Thanks." I said
"My head hurts." I said leaning back.
"Rhi your about to have a baby and your complaining about your head." James said
"Hey I have every right to complain." I said
"Yeah okay." He said
It was only another hour before it was time and in that hour, Brad, Trist, Jodie, Charlotte, Michael, Ash, Calum and Luke had turned up. They were all waiting in the waiting room. While Connor and James were in the room with me.
"Come on babe push, push." Connor said
"Ahhhhh." I screamed
"Come on Rhi. Nearly there." James said I screamed again and she was out.
To hear her scream was amazing, and boy did she scream. Con cut the cord then they handed her to me.
"She's perfect babe." Connor said kissing me on the head
"Yeah she is." I smiled
"She's beautiful Rhi." James said smiling
"Thanks James." I said
"Can I hold her babe?" Con said
"Yeah." I said and I handed her over to Con.
"Has she got a name?" Clare said
"Yeah, Lilly-Anna Rose Ball." I said
"Such a beautiful name." Clare said and she wrote Lilly's names on her cot.
"Can I take her to see the other?" Con asked
"If you like but she might make a fuss, she'll want feeding soon." Clare said
"I'll make sure I'm back." Con said and he left the room with Lilly in his arms.
