''Show yourself!'' Yelled my grandfather. So much for being quiet. We watched as a figure jumped off from the ceiling rafters with a flip and landed on the ground. It was Cole.

''I will not allow you to pass.'' He said coolly. He pulled out his sword and cracked his neck.

''You could just let us pass and save the trouble,'' I told him. He did not reply.

''Go, both of you,'' said my grandfather. ''I'll help if you need it. Consider it another test.'' I thanked him for his help and Elizabeth and I walked up to the stage. We drew are swords.

''Are you ready?'' Asked Cole. What a gentleman! We nodded.

''Then let us begin!'' He said, smiling. He was just soooo polite!

He stood there, waiting for us to make a move. I had no plan, so I just nodded at Elizabeth and we attacked. We both jumped at him and swung our swords. They clashed. He managed to push us back, and swing back. I managed to dodge. Elizabeth had to block the swing, and the force pushed her back. He was experienced. He easily deflected our swings and returned them with his own. He seemed to be playing, tiring us out, easily beating us. Then Elizabeth swung at him. As he blocked her swing, I landed a hit. I managed to cut his shoulder. He dropped his sword. I thought he was down, but he showed no look of pain. He jumped back and hit us with a beam of black magic. Elizabeth and I flew back into the air and hit the ground hard.

''So that's the way you want to fight?'' I asked.

I sent my own beam of magic at him. Blue crackling power flew towards him. He seemed surprised and quickly sent his own at mine. They clashed. Bolts of magic, like lightning, flew off the collision. He sent both smashing into a wall, causing it to crumble. I sent another and he created a magic barrier. My magic broke right through it and hit him. This time he went flying back and hit the wall, crumpling to the ground. I walked towards him.

''You're strong, but you won't stand a chance against Lord Zirkon,'' he said, and jumped up, kicking me in the chest. It knocked the wind out of me and I fell to my knees. Elizabeth jumped out of nowhere and punched Cole in the face.  He didn't see that one coming.

''Ouch!'' I said. I got up. He tried to swing at me, but I but I grabbed his fist, and chopped his neck.  I kicked him in the chest. It hit like concrete.  He hit the wall with an oof! and crumpled back onto the ground. I heard a rib crack.

''Ohhh...'' He moaned. We watched as he slowly got up, clutching his chest.

''I-I must alert Master James...'' He said and kind of ran towards the exit. I was about to run after him, but my grandfather grabbed my shoulder.

''Let him go. We have been discovered anyway.'' I stretched, trying to loosen my sore body.

''Thanks for the help... again!'' I told him.

''You had it all under control.''

''Yeah,'' I said, cracking my shoulder. ''Thanks for that, Elizabeth. I don't think he expected that!'' She smiled. ''He woulda gotten me.''

''Let's get going!'' Said my grandfather. ''We don't have much time!'' We ran up the stairs. The stairs were on the outside. It was creepy. One gust of wind and BANG! you're dead! It's a wonder how Cole made it. Luckily, we did as well.

''Stop,'' whispered my grandfather. We hid behind a pillar and waited, watching Cole and James speak to one another.

''You idiotic failure,'' I heard James say.

''The boy and girl are powerful,'' Cole defended himself.

''And you are weak! Now who are we to sacrifice in order to bring back Zirkon?''

A smile slowly grew on James' face. A look of realization formed on Cole's.

''No!'' He said, drawing his sword.

''Yes,'' said James, doing the same. James swung and knocked Cole's sword out of his hand. He was in no shape to fight. James pointed his sword at him. Cole threw a ball of magic at James. James raised his hand ad the ball ricocheted back at its creator. Cole flew back near the edge of the tower.

''You must be punished for your failure.'' With a wave of his hand, James tossed Cole near a large cauldron full of boiling water. Cole struggled to get up, but James grabbed him and threw him into the cauldron. I kind of pitied him.

Suddenly, the cauldron was engulfed in flame. The dark cloud above us became a funnel cloud that whirled around the cauldron. The power coming off of it was enough to blow you away. James spoke a few words, and lightning struck the cauldron. It created an explosion, and smoke covered the area. It was blinding and deafening. The smoke finally cleared to reveal...

What do you think is about to happen? Things are starting to get exciting! :)
