Chapter 21
>Danny’s POV<
Its been a week since the meeting, are scouts had found their hide away, luckily it wasn’t overly guarded. I was just happy that Zaire’s boy was in there.
So that’s where we are, me, Zaire, my dad, his beta, and mine, standing in the tree edge, looking at the little cottage. Zaire was saying inaudible things, I think curses, but I couldn’t really tell.
“We should be careful, we don’t know if Lycaon is here or not, but either way he might be alerted, and we don’t need a bunch of wolves to come in,” my dad said, more to me, but possibly to Zaire.
“I’ll go in myself,” Zaire said, changing into his bear form. His shoulder was easily a foot over my head. With a gulp I stepped away from him.
“Zaire,” my dad said in a warning tone, “Let us come with you.” Zaire only turned slightly and gave a warning growl.
“Let us help you,” I said in a kind tone. The war bear looked at me and swung his head back towards the cottage, glancing at me from the corner of his eye. The for of us transformed and followed the giant. There was a few men outside, but once they saw Zaire the went inside to either prepare, or to get their comrades.
It was the latter that was true, six wolves came out of the cottage. They growled at Zaire, who growled right back, raising himself onto his hind legs, getting ready to swat at anyone who came near him. The four of us flanked him, father and son.
The six of them charged at us, Zaire roared and landed on two of them, while he grabbed a third in his massive jaws, crushing his windpipe. I charged forward and attacked one of them which was closest to me. He was bigger then me, but I wasn’t worried, I knew that I could take him. I lunged forwards to attack him when Zaire’s giant paw came flying above me, hitting the wolf across the face, sending him flying. I walked around quickly and saw that they were all dead already. I glanced up at the werebear as he transformed and ran towards the cottage.

>Zaire’s POV<
I swatted at the last one, sending him flying into a tree. With that done I changed and walked into the cottage to find my son.
I could smell him, he was so close, but I couldn’t see him. I continued my search, opening each door by tearing it off its hinges. My bear was on high alert, he wanted his little cub back.
As I searched through the house I listened for anything that might tell me where my son is.
I got to the last door in the house, the rest were discarded at their respective doorframe. I yanked the door off, a stench wafted up from down the dark stairs. With my heart beating rapidly cause of fear I charged down the stairs. A dim light was lit over a cage.
“Timmy?” I called out softly. “Timmy, are you there?”
“Daddy!” I could hear his voice but he was in the back of the cage, in the darkness. I ran up to the cage and tore it open. I crawled until I could feel his breathing on my face.
“My cub, I’ve been so worried about you,” silent tears ran down my face as I grabbed the chains that held my boy. I tore them out of the wall. I picked Timothy up and carried him out of the cage, I didn’t look down at him until I was outside. I placed him down and saw the scars that marked his body. I growled to myself as he looked up at me, his face had a few scars while his right eye was puffy and black.
I heard coughing from behind me. I turned and saw that one of them wasn’t dead yet. The alpha went to tend to him, I growled loudly at him and walked up to the man. I grabbed his scrawny head and lifted him up. I pulled him to my face so he could look at me. I could see the fear in his hazel eyes. I squeezed hard on his head until blood was pouring out of his nose.
