Chapter 16 - New Year Magic

It was half past 11, half an hour before the New Year began I was in the toilets with Rachel and Kim, "Mia, if you don't kiss him tonight we will personally force your heads together" Rachel said to me, "Rach, he won't want to kiss me. He's only just gotten over Bella, yeah we all might be drunk but that doesn't mean that he wants me" I said drying my hands then walking out the toilets and back to the rest of the group. Everyone decided to go dancing on the dancefloor but me and Jake who had decided to do another round of shots only now there was 5 shots each seeing as everyone ditched us, "Ready Mills, 3...2...1" Jake said before we downed the first shot followed by the second, then third, fourth and lastly the fifth "You're a bad influence Jacob Black!" I shouted, he laughed "Mills, it's the other way round, you ordered the shots" I said placing his hand on my back and he spoke into my ear seeing at the music was loud. "Come outside and talk?" Jake asked me as Paul and Rachel came back to the booth, I nodded getting up to follow him taking his hand.

"Mills, I'm sorry for being a shit friend these last few months, well years really" he said as we got outside I tried to stop him there because he hadn't been a shit friend so he silenced me by putting his finger on my lip, "let me finish first then you can speak, to me I don't feel like ive been there for you like I should, we have Harry now he seriously is the best thing to happen to me and I can't thank you enough for letting me be part of his life, I've missed you Mills" he finished, "Jake. You've been anything but a shit friend, you stuck by me once you found out about Harry, you stuck by Bella even though the pregnancy was killing her but you look out for your friends and family but you know what Jakey" I said, "What?" he replied. "We are having too deep of a conversation because we are drunk, you trying to get me emotional Jakey?" I said, he laughed before asking if I wanted to head to get a drink seeing as it was nearly midnight, "you really do look beautiful tonight, any guy would be lucky to have you" he whispered in my ear, I got goose bumps, all I could do was blush.

I watched Jake out the corner of my eye, he was laughing with Paul and Jared, he finally looked like my Jakey again. Did I refer to him as mine? He never was mine and never will, I can only dream. His shirt was clinging to each and every muscle of his chest, back and arms all I wanted to do was rip it off seeing as it was getting me all hot under the collar, but all I will ever be is his best friend. "Mia! You're staring!" Emily warned me of how obvious it was that I was drooling over Jake it seemed obvious to everyone but him that I loved him, I just laughed before downing my drink. The DJ had just announced that it was 30 seconds to midnight, the pack made their way over to their imprints so me and Jake ended up being stood next to each other, "guess we are welcoming the New Year in together Mills, our tradition" Jake whispered in my ear, we always welcomed the New Year in together usually it was sat in his bed room with Pizza or on the beach looking up at the stars, this year everything had changed. We looked at each other screaming the countdown, "5...4...3...2...1 HAPPY NEW YEAR" everyone shouted, that's when he leaned in, his hand lifting my chin looking into my eyes, Jacob Black was kissing me it took me a few seconds to comprehend what was going on when I finally did I responded kissing him back my hand moving up into his hair, my fingers moving through his soft short hair before slightly fisting it, one arm was wrapped around my waist pulling me closer to him, his other hand that was on my chin now moving into my hair. There is defiantly something between me and Jake, no kiss has ever felt like this before there was just something special there when we were around each other, eventually we pulled away from each other just staring into each other's eyes "Happy New Year Jakey" I whispered in his ear, "Happy New Year Mills," he replied.

We spent the rest of the night together, dancing, drinking and talking a few sneaky kisses were thrown in there too, I could not have wished for a better start to the New Year. "Everyone's heading back now, do you want to stay or should we go with them?" Jake asked me, "yeah, I don't want to leave too late because I want to get back to Harry later on," I replied, we walked out of the club everyone in their couples, Sam and Emily walking with Jared and Kim, Rachel and Paul with Leah and Embry then me and Jake trailing behind at the back. "Mills. Stop please I need to tell you something" Jake said starting to get all serious, at this point we had started to sober up so I stopped waiting for him to continue, "I have to tell you this, everyone has been telling me to all night, I'm in love with you. I have been since we were 13 and recently I was blinded by what I thought was love but really it's been you all along" he said, I was shocked, I was absolutely speechless "I knew I shouldn't have said anything, I've ruined our friendship why would you ever feel the same about me" Jake said starting to get angry at myself. I just grabbed him by the shirt and kissed him, his arms snaking around my waist holding me close, warmth radiating off him I pulled back placing both my hands on the sides of his face looking into his brown eyes "Jakey, I am in love with you. I have been for a while; everyone knows I love you but you. Don't ever think that I won't love you because I always will and always have," I said whilst smiling at him, he pecked my lips again before picking me up and carrying me back to the room.

Once we got to the room things started to get more heated, the kisses become more and more passionate, we had started to undress each other until we were left in our underwear, thank god that I chose to wear underwear that basically matched, they weren't a matching set but they were the same color. He kissed from my neck down my chest towards my stomach and then back up to my lips, neither of us could keep our hands of one another, I couldn't help but let out a moan into the kiss "I. Love. You. Mills. Don't. Ever. Forget. That. I'll. Only. Ever. Want.
