Chapter 23 - Leaving?

Paul came round straight away both of us pulling each other into a hug, we both needed it, and we needed each other. Harry was still playing with his trucks on the floor when we pulled away "I need to give him a bath, make yourself at home," I said to Paul, "I'll come up and help, keep you both company," he replied following me up the stairs to the bathroom where I handed him Harry whilst I got the bath running putting his favorite toys in along with some bubbles, Paul had got him undressed for me placing him in his Spiderman towel until the bath had run. "Are you ready little man?" I asked Harry who nodded his head readily he loved his bath time especially when it included bubbles and toys, Paul and I were sat at the side of the bath tub watching him play with the toys "I just want to get away from it all for a while, you know just leave to clear my head there's just too many memories around here to sort my head out, do you think Sam would let me have some time off?" Paul asked breaking the silence, "I know what you mean Pauly, every place I look round here there's a memory that I can't escape from. But I'm sure Sam will let you, there's been no leeches pass through since all that with the vampire royalty and there is more than enough pack member's to protect the tribe," I replied looking up at him before checking back on Harry again. "I suppose you're right Mia, I'll speak to him when they are back but you should come with me, both of us escape for a little while clear our heads come back when we can face it again," he said with hope in his eyes "I really would love to Paul but I can't leave Collin..." I started to say before I was interrupted "yeah you can mom, Brady's mom wouldn't mind me staying there for a while, you need the space you've been hurt and you need time to heal to get over him."

"Since when did you become so smart, we will have to speak to Brady's mom first I am not leaving unless you can stay with someone," I said to him, "we don't have to speak to her, I already spoke to her about it she knows what you are going through it happened to her sister, she sends her best wishes," he replied, "I can't believe you Collin, I'm going to miss you so much you know that," I said tears forming in my eyes at the thought of leaving him even for a short while I had grown to love him as a Son. "Mom, don't cry we can Skype and stuff. I just want you to be happy again, and being here won't help that you need some time away so leave with Paul for a while." He said before hugging me and then leaving to go meet Brady, he really had grown up a lot recently, he was becoming a smart, handsome, caring young man I couldn't be prouder of him, "I guess it's settled then, you're coming with me if I get the all clear from Sam," Paul said cheerfully as he lifted Harry out the bath. He had washed Harry's hair whilst I had been talking to Collin, I guess I really was going to be able to escape the memories with my best friend after all, "you go make us both a coffee, get comfy on the sofa, I'll get the little man ready for bed and put him to sleep, ok?" Paul told me just as Harry yawned, it wouldn't take him long to fall asleep seeing as he was tired already, I simply just nodded making my way back downstairs to make the coffee's.

Paul came down 10 minutes later sitting next to me on the sofa I had put a random film that was on television whilst he ordered the pizza and ice cream, it was times like these when I was thankful for knowing the 'secret' about the pack as if I didn't I wouldn't have my best friend or my family but then again I wouldn't have had my heartbroken again my Jacob. I wish I knew why he did what he did but I couldn't face seeing him any time soon, I just wanted to leave, the sooner the better.

*Next morning*
I woke up to find myself in bed which was strange as I don't remember going to bed last night, I must have fallen asleep on the sofa last night meaning Paul would of carried me up here. I stretch, climb out of bed and throw on my dressing gown and slippers then make my way towards Harry's room, he isn't there. I rush downstairs hoping he is sat playing with his toys, to my relief he but he wasn't playing alone he was playing with Paul which was quite a funny sight to see an overgrown man lied on the floor playing robots with an (almost) two-year-old. "Morning sleeping beauty," Paul said breaking me out of my trance, "morning, how come you're still here?" I asked wondering what he was still doing here, "I spoke to Billy this morning, I mentioned to him about leaving he is allowing me to go until I've cleared my head he understands and he also said that I shouldn't let you go off on your own too, he said he is sorry about Jake and to stop by before you leave," he replied. I nodded before sitting down on next to them both kissing Harry's head who then stood up and made his way over to sit on his mommy's lap, "you thought about where you want to go Mia?" Paul asked, "Well... I was thinking England...but if you don't want to go its fine we can go somewhere else" I said looking down. Paul lifted my chin with his hand looking into my eyes "England is perfect Mia, it's far away from here which is perfect I guess we should start packing, I'll go book tickets and sort out accommodation and stuff" he said starting to stand up, "no need to sort out accommodation, my grandparents on my dad's side live out there, they have a cottage that we can live in they always say I'm welcome, I will give them a ring and sort that all out."

Paul had text me telling me that our flight was leaving today at 11.35pm, I had packed all my things so was making my way over to Leah and Embry's where all the pack was hanging out to tell them what was happening, "guys, I have some news...you all know what went on between Jacob and I so I need to leave for a while to clear my head, Paul too. So me, him and Harry are going living with my grandparents for a while, promise me you will keep in touch we me, our flight leaves tonight" I said as a single tear rolled down my cheek, I was really going to miss them, they were family to me. Leah and Seth were the first to pull me into a hug, "I hate what Jake did to you but we understand you have to go, be safe ok keep sending us loads of pictures and tell gran and pops that we love them" Leah said, said just nodding through his tears "of course I will, I love you both so much I'm so happy you both have found your perfect match, I'm glad you are both happy, stay safe, I love you munchkins... even if you are taller than me now," I laughed through the tears along with them. Me and Paul made our way around the pack saying our goodbyes before we left to go see Billy and then onto Charlie's to visit my mom and Charlie.

Once we pulled up at Billy's, Billy instantly came to meet us at the door "Mia, I'm so sorry for what he has done to you but please keep in touch with me, I love you like a daughter and I love my grandson dearly and Paul I'm sorry about Rachel," Billy said he really was a kind-hearted man "you don't need to apologize on behalf of him Billy, of course I'll keep in touch we will call you and send you pictures just so you don't forget us," I say before leaving towards my mom's, however whilst on our way over I received a call from my mom saying she would meet us at the airport so she could have more time with us before we left.

"I love you Amelia, you were my first born but you will always be my baby, I wish you hadn't been hurt then you wouldn't have to leave but I understand why you have too. Take care of yourself and Harry, I'm sure Paul and your grandparents will too but... oh I'm just going to miss you, te amo, filia mea, (I love you, my daughter)" mom said pulling me into a hug tears running down both of our faces, "te amo, mom" I whispered in her ear before I made my way over to Charlie, "thank you Charlie, she really loves you and I know you love her too, I'm glad you make each other happy you both deserve it after everything you have both been through, both of you take care of one another ok" I said to Charlie pulling him into a hug, "thank you Mia, that means a lot to me, your mother will be fine just like you will be ok" he said back.

"You ready to go Mia?" Paul asked as our flight was called, "yeah, come on Harry time to go say bye to granny and poppa," I said as he gave them one last hug before running back over to me with his blanket. All three of us waved as we went round the corner before they were out of sight, I was carrying Harry on my hip and Paul had wrapped his arm around my should comforting me knowing it was hard for me to leave my family even if it was the right thing to do.

"Ready to start our adventure Mia?" Paul asked as the plane took off, I simply nodded before closing my eyes and falling to sleep dreaming of my new life in England.
