Chapter 8 - Happy 1st Birthday

It was Harry's first birthday, he was still fast asleep in his room so I was setting everything up for his little party we were having for him, Jacob was due to arrive an hour ago to help me set up the banners and balloon's, it wasn't exactly a small job since the sitting room was so large, but it fitted its purpose of fitting the whole pack in. I had laid all Harry's presents I had bought him in front of the fire, he was certainly a spoiled little boy but I guess he always will be especially with my mom around. Harry's cries filled the room through the baby monitor after I had finished setting up, his cries stopped instantly the moment he saw, the tears replaced with his trademark cheeky smile "Happy Birthday baby boy, mommy loves you so much, yes she does" I gushed as I picked him up, I carried him into the kitchen getting a bottle ready for him whilst waiting for the bottle to finish warming there was a knock on the door it must be Jake. I opened the door and there stood Jake with his Dad "Come on in, don't stand out in the cold" I welcomed them both taking Billy's coat as Jake wheeled him in passing Harry over to Billy as they went past, "Mills I'm sorry I'm late I didn't want to miss any of his birthday so I had the early morning patrol the red headed leech was there again we had chased her to the Canadian border by the time I got back I thought I may as well get dad and bring him too.." cutting him off with a hug I said "it's ok Jakey I sorted everything he only just woke up, there is one thing you can do for me. You can go get his bottle its warming in the kitchen ready." With that he went to the kitchen retrieving Harry's bottle and started feeding him, Mom, Seth, Leah and Embry walked in giving me a hug placing Harry's presents with mine, Jake's and Billy's each giving me a hug before speaking to Billy and Jake, it was times like these that I was truly thankful that I had my family around me. If only my dad and Sarah were here, then it would truly be complete, Rachel and Rebecca wouldn't have left either. Everyone would be here together.

Walking into the kitchen I knew Jakey had seen the tears that had fell as he followed me into the kitchen holding my chin in his hand he lifted my head looking into my eyes "Mills what's wrong" he said, "I just wish my dad and your mum was here, their first grandchild's first birthday, they should be here Jakey. I miss them so much" that's when the tears really started falling. Jake pulled me into his chest which for once actually had a t-shirt on, not that I was complaining when he didn't have one but it made a change he knew the pain I was going through "oi Leah come here they're getting it on...again" Embry shouted to Leah, he had to ruin the moment Leah turning up slapping Embry on the back of the head "we weren't doing anything Embry and you know it" I snapped, him and Leah were the only ones who knew how I truly felt about Jake, and Embry wasn't exactly being secretive about it. Leah followed Jake out the room back to where everyone else is "I'm sorry Mia, I know he feels something for you, he has to, he did lose his virginity to you" he whispered making sure only us two were the only ones who heard it "Embs, he loves Bella and that is the end of story there won't be a me and him ever again sorry to disappoint you but I'm over it. Now help me bring these drinks in" I said with a sigh.

Walking back in to see the rest of the pack had turned up (minus Sam and Jared who were on patrol) meaning me and Jake could 'help' Harry open his presents and what I mean by help is open his presents. He had received a lot of clothes, Leah and Embry had got him the cutest all in one that he would be wearing tonight, it was a little wolf snowsuit with a tail and ears it was the cutest, Harry had also received a lot of toys I think his favorite was off his uncle Pauly; a stuffed wolf that looked exactly like Paul in wolf form which Jake wasn't too pleased that his Son loved so much but I thought it was rather hilarious. Jake didn't want Paul to be around Jake seeing as he was so temperamental, especially when anything was mentioned about Bella, he couldn't stand her, but when Paul was around Harry he was calm. The rest of the day went smoothly everyone had gone home around 3pm when Harry was having a nap.
