Chapter 30 - Happy at Last

My heart was pounding, realization was hitting me, I was over Jacob Black. 

Am I supposed to be happy or sad? It was a strange feeling, I guess now I could move on and be happy for him, I had to tell Leah this news. My heart was still beating ten to the dozen as I rose from the bench I had been sat upon, emerging from the trees I see Leah stood with Embry, I was so eager to tell her this new news if you could call it news that I ran in my heels towards them ... well as best as I could run in heels. "I need to tell you both something," I gasped as I approached them trying to catch my breath, running in heels takes a lot of effort when the ground is not gravel and let me tell you the distance I crossed wasn't exactly short, "Mia, take a deep breath and calm down" Leah said reassuringly whilst rubbing my back, "I'm over Jake, I realized at the ceremony when they said I do I didn't feel pain I didn't feel any emotion then I went and sat behind the trees there and it came to me I don't have feelings for him, I'm genuinely happy for them both." I smiled relieved that a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders, "Mia, that's great news that you're happy for them, you can move on yourself now and be happy" Embry said relieved probably at the fact I wasn't going to ruin his best friend's wedding and the fact there would no longer be any awkwardness hopefully between me, Jacob and his new wife.

The happy couple had decided on a buffet for the meal so that everyone could help themselves, there were tons of options so there was something for everyone, before they had the first dance there was time for everyone to mingle and talk so I decided to go talk to Jake and Jade and apologize, "hey guys, congratulations" I said to them both with a smile as I approached them, this time my smile was genuine not the fake smile I had been wearing the past couple months, "err... thanks Mia" Jake replied uneasily, "I just want to apologize to how I've acted towards you both, I'm genuinely happy you've found your true soul mate Jake, I'm glad you both make one another happy you truly are the perfect couple and I wish you every happiness" what surprised me next was that Jade pulled me into a hug "thank you Mia, your apology means a lot, maybe after the honeymoon we could hang out and we can get to know each other now?" Jade said hoping that it wasn't pushing it too far, "yeah that would be great, I really am sorry I never gave you a chance" I said before leaving going back to my mom who was now talking to Harry.

"MOMMY!" Harry screamed the minute he saw me as he started running towards me jumping into my arms, "I missed you, mommy" he mumbled into my neck, "I missed you too baby boy, were you a good boy for daddy?" I asked knowing that he was, he was always good for anyone he was with, "yeah mommy I always good, I play with Claire before but now she want uncle Quil but that's ok I have you now" he was cute when he started to ramble, "Leah told me what you told her darling, I'm glad you're finally over him and can move on darling, you coming watching the first dance?" my mom said to me as she approached me and Harry, I simply nodded and followed her towards the dance floor. They had chosen to dance to Lay Me Down by Sam Smith, it was truly a beautiful song which suited them perfectly, there wasn't a dry eye in sight I had got some wonderful pictures of them. I was glad it was today that I realized I was over Jake, I could now truly appreciate their day and be happy for them. After half the song was through they invited everyone to join them, Jades parents, Billy and Embry's mom, Jake's sisters and their partners were the first to join them, followed by my mom and Charlie, Leah and Embry, Emily and Sam, Quil and Claire, Jared and Kim, Brady and Evie, Seth and Nessie, all the Cullen's and their spouses. I decided I was going to dance with Harry who still wanted to be picked up so I was swaying and twirling with him until I saw Paul stood watching everybody so I made my way over towards him before dragging him to dance with me and Harry so he wasn't alone. He simply shook his head at me but danced with us, Harry had put his arms around both me and Paul making us laugh, he really was adorable and he adored his Uncle Paul just as much as his Uncle Seth.

I have to say the pack scrubbed up well in their dress pants and shirts, they all looked very smart and if they didn't have imprints I'd happily be with them... I'm joking they're like my brothers but they did look good and Leah looked beautiful, I was extremely proud of my family they still were going strong after everything we had all been through. After a few songs me and Paul sat down as Harry went playing with some of the kids at the wedding, I guess the whole pack now knew I was over Jake as they were trying to set me up on tinder, which I wasn't having none of, I'd rather find someone without having to swipe, Paul and Seth were glad I wasn't letting them put me on there.

The day had gone prefect for them, the weather was perfect but it was getting late and they were off on their honeymoon, everyone went outside waving them off before heading back inside, they were going to Hawaii for their honeymoon, their present from the pack. Jade's mom was having the twin girls whilst they were away, slowly everyone was filtering out of the hall they had held the reception in, I was looking for Paul, we were walking back together seeing as we lived together, Harry had fallen asleep clinging to my neck but I couldn't blame him it had been a long day for him and it was very late now he was exhausted. I couldn't see Paul anywhere so I decided to make my way outside to see if he was there, I heard him before I saw him so not wanting to interrupt his conversation I held back "...I think I love her Embry, I don't know what I'd do without her in my life, I just don't know what to do, I don't want to hurt anyone" Paul said to Embry, I wonder who he was on about, had he imprinted? I guess he'll tell me when he's ready, "I don't know Paul, just be careful don't hurt her, you'd be dead otherwise" Embry replied before heading to Leah, it did sound like he had imprinted but on who? I took that my indiaction to walk over towards him "ready to go, this little monsters already asleep?" I said to Paul nodding towards a sleeping Harry in my arms, he simply just nodded before taking Harry from me. The walk home was short and filled with a silence, I guess he didn't want to tell me what he was speaking to Embry about so I didn't ask him, he'd tell me when he was ready. I wonder who he loves, who his imprint is? Will he move out? Or will it be me who moves out? I guess time would be the indicator of all my questions.
