Chapter 26 - Normality

Me, Paul and Harry had now been back in La Push for a couple of months now, life was getting back to normal, as if we had never left. Paul had opened his own car and carpentry shop in La Push which attracted many of the locals of La Push and quite a bit of business from Forks, he was loving his job. Collin was 16 now and still lived with me, he hated Jake after what had happened, the only time he spoke to him was when it had anything to do with the pack, Collin hadn't imprinted on anyone whilst we had been gone, neither had his best friend Brady so they were still joined at the hip, it was nice to be back to I guess you'd call it normality even if I did miss my life back in England, La Push would always be our home.

Jacob knew we had returned but had never tried to contact me about Harry, I often went and saw Billy but I never asked about Jacob. The heartbreak was still there, it still caused me pain but the pain had died down, I had my friends and family to support me here, I wouldn't let Jacob take that away from me.

Rosalie was now setting my party company up for me over here, she was helping me so much it was nice to know after everything that has happened in the past with our ancestors that we were able to make friends with our enemies and class them as friends, a new treaty was formed allowing the Cullen's and only the Cullen's to enter our land alone, any other vampire that trespassed onto our land would pay the price.

"Mia?!" I heard Paul shout breaking me from my thoughts, getting up off my bed I followed his voice to the kitchen, "oh there you are" he said once he had seen me, "I was just wondering what you want for dinner?" Paul often cooked back in England so it wasn't unusual for him to ask me what I wanted to eat, "I was thinking of taking Harry and Collin to Emily's new diner if you wanted to join us" I replied answering him, "can't beat Emily's, I'll be there," Paul answered.

At the diner I saw Kim, Jared and Quil, they were speaking to me and Paul played with Harry on the playground next to the diner, "Mia, can I ask you something?" Kim asked skeptically, I nodded drawn in by the tone in her voice, Jared and Quil shaking their head as if they knew what she was going to ask, "sorry if you feel like I'm trying to interfere, I'm not, do you have feelings for Paul at all?" Her question truly shocked me, I was lost for words, "no, I mean I've never thought of him like that, he's my best friend, why'd you ask?" I eventually responded as I glanced over at Paul who was playing soccer with Harry. "You live together, you spent a year in England together, you know everything about each other and you helped each other get over the heartbreak you were both going through, I just thought you may have feelings for each other after that and you both deserve to be happy" Kim responded, which just left my head spinning running through everything she had said.

That evening as I lay in bed I couldn't help but think about what Kim had said, did I have feelings for Paul or was he just my best friend, all I knew was that night I wasn't getting any sleep.
