Because it's so dark and because my eyes are slightly swollen, I can't tell where we are. Hoshi, who is actually called Soonyoung, blasts SHINee for the last two minutes of the ride until we had arrived. It was View.
Seungcheol sighs loudly and exits slowly, his movements tiredly slow. He knocks on the window beside mine and opens the door slowly, giving me a smile. I'm so glad that it's dark because then he'd see my eyes.
The only thing I want to is get out of the van and maybe vomit from all the anxiety I feel at the moment, but I don't. Seungcheol reaches out for my hand to help me out of the vehicle, which is so kind, so I take his help.
The others exit through the other side and then I realize where we are. The van is parked in the driveway of some humongous house, which is probably made for as much as my entire family. Why is it so big for only 6 guys? Well, I'm assuming.
Whose house even is this? Like, where on earth are their parents? Why do 6 boysーwhy that number?ーlive together, in this magnificently large house?
The bright-smile boy grabs onto the hood of his jacket and pulls me right beside him. My head fits perfectly below his armpit. I hate my height so much, it upsets me.
The other boys are freakishly tall, too. Hoshi (I'm not sure what to call him) and Seungkwan jump right around me as we wait for Seungcheol to unlock the large door.
They have to crouch to look at me and I try to avoid eye contact with them since my eyes are probably still red and wet. Hoshi stands up and says something in Korean, which is probably something insecure because the boy beside me pats him.
"She's very nice, Hoshi-hyung. Very, very, very nice." I feel like I'm falling backwards when I realize that he's talking about me. I'm not very, very, very nice. There's nothing nice about me.
Seungcheol unlocks the door and glittering lights floods out from the chandelier that is visibly hanging from the tall roof. Jeonghan hums and pats the eldest on the back of the neck before leading us in.
I feel like Jeonghan keeps Seungcheol under control like some dog, and it's kind of freaking me out but it's also intriguing me.
The house is just lovely inside as it is outside. How many cars would I have to sell just to look inside here? It's so beautiful. The white decor and the matching furniture is spotless, just like the tiled floor with literally no marks or anything.
Soon, I realize that this glowing place makes me look darker and I suddenly feel much smaller than I should have. Jesus Christ.
Seungkwan sighs loudly and trudges over to the living room of some sort, before laying down flat on the floor with his butt sticking in the air. Wow, he has a really nice bottom. Wow.
"Sooo fresh!" Hoshi hops up and giggles, looking at me with a cute grin on his pale face. It's quiet and I begin to loosen my grip on the boy's sweater before I hear more screams, but they aren't familiar.
I realize, in slight horror, that there are more boys. Where are their mothers?!
They run over to us and wave at the boys, as if they haven't seen them in years. It made my stomach feel really warm because their handsome faces look even happier.
They freeze when they see me but run over to us, crowding around me like I'm some kind of animal in a zoo. I can feel Hansol staring me, still, and I hide my face even more.
"Ah...Hello!" A joyful voice calls and I get over how weird my crying face looks before peering up at them. It's not nice to not look at people when they're talking. My aunt wouldn't approve of this.
I gasp a little because he's so unforgivably tall, whoever said it. He has to be like a million feet taller than me.
He gasps, too. So do the others. Dang it, my eyes are still red and swollen. Why does this have to happen to me right now? They all seem so nice. They shouldn't have to deal with this right now.
The boy, who is kind of holding me, looks down at me and gasps, too, covering his mouth with his hand adorably.
He crouched down and turns his body to me, grabbing onto my hand. Why does he like touching?
The boy sighs and turns to his friends before scolding them in Korean. I know he scolded them because they walk off and make a nervous face as they do so. He sounds different when he scolds.
"Ah, Max?" He asks and looks into my eyes. "Are you okay? Why you crying?" His voice comes out a little breathy and he wets his lips with his tongue. I can't focus on answering him, too preoccupied in his beauty.
I blink a little and just manage a slight smile, shaking my head a little. "I'm okay. I'm not crying." I answer, biting my bottom lip a little and twitching my arm.
He gazes into my eyes for a little while longer before sighing softly. "You can tell me why you're lying later, Max. It's okay." My lips part and he pats my cheek, using his other hand to ruffle my hair.
Dang, this boy...
The boy pulls me to where his friends or brothers went, which is the kitchen. My eyes widen to, perhaps, the size of Jupiter because the kitchen has to be as big as my house. This isn't funny. How does this even happen?
There's less of the boys in there and they're all sitting at the table as three of them are in the actual kitchen.
Seungcheol ties the back of Jeonghan's apron and when he turns around, ok, this boy gives him a quick kiss on the cheek. What the fー
"Max!" Seungkwan cries from the table, earning everyone's attention and causing them to stop what they're doing. He gives me a cute little smile and then asks me, "Do you want a cone or cup for the ice cream?" His voice is so delicate.
I exhale in relief and open my mouth to answer before Seungcheol intervenes. "Ah, Boo Seungkwan, we're eating ice cream after we eat." He states this with a strict tone before giving me an apologetic smile. "Sorry, Max." He says and Jeonghan turns to me, crinkling his nose with a cute little grin.
Seungkwan sighs and sets in the freezer before walking over to me. He looks down at me with squinted eyes, as if trying to figure something out. Probably, why I'm so ugly, or something.
His hand wraps around my wrist and he steers me all the way to the table, where most of the boys are seated. Hansol is right there, still watching at me with his intimidating stare. I suddenly wish I were a turtle so I could hide in my sleep forever and not have to deal with this.
But sadly, I am not a turtle. I'm just ugly and young, with lots of issues.
They all look at me with wonder and welcoming expressions on their handsome faces. Why are all of these people handsome and cute?
"Sit, sit." Seungkwan tells me, from behind and above me before gently pushing me into the chair. I meet everyone's eyes, which took lots of courage and will so I even offer a half smile.
They all grin at me, except for Hansol. What does this kid have against me?
"I'm Mingyu!" The tall boy from before greets and waves at me even though he's sitting right across from me.
The rest all greet themselves and they all have lovely names to match with their appearances. I learn Jihoon, Wonwoo, and Joshua, who are all very kind to me. Joshua tells me that there are more boys in the other rooms.
The last one to greet me is a boy with slightly messy, black hair and he licks his lips twice, almost nervously. He smiles at me really adorably before clearing his throat.
He gives me a bright grin before muttering, "A-and uh, I'm your next boyfriend."
