Somehow

Two weeks later, Isaac and I were by my locker. Nobody knows still, which is good, but they're noticing things.
"My friends keep asking me why there's a necklace tucked under my shirt," Isaac said looking down slightly at me, smiling. "It's quite amusing actually."
"My friends assume my key necklace is the one that's tucked under my shirt," I said laughing slightly.
"They may be observant, but they're so oblivious," he rolled his eyes.
"You're telling me," I leaned against my locker and looked into his eyes. There was that pull. The magnetic field of two magnets needing to connect. Every time I look into his eyes I feel it. His eyes tell me that he feels it too.
He bent his head down giving into the pull, both our eyes closing. This one was different, there was more love. He held onto my waist and my arms were slung behind his neck. Lips moving in perfect sync.
The sound of my phone going off made us jump apart. Sighing I took it out of my pocket and looked at it. It was a message from Ariel basically saying 'where are you' minus the profanity.
Isaac gave me an exasperated look. "I swear they can't function without you. You're gone for two seconds and they flip out."
"Yeah it gets annoying. They just get worried is all," I explained.
"Why's that?" He looked at me with concern.
"I used to be notorious for not going to lunch, and hiding in a practice room in the music hall due to anxiety attacks. They used to get really bad," I said sagging back against my locker, and looking down.
Isaac put two fingers under my chin and lifted my head up so that I was looking into his eyes.
"Hey," he said leaning close to me. "You know I love you right?" I nodded. "I'll always be there for you no matter what. Whenever you need me I'll be there for you."

We walked through the doors to the cafeteria and split off to our perspective tables. I sat in my usual spot and everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me.
"Okay what's the big deal?!" Micaela said crossing her arms over her chest, glaring at me. "You think it's okay for you to be late for lunch everyday!"
"Excuse me for thinking that good grades are more important than eating nasty ass mystery food," I said shrugging.
"Who is it?" Ariel said next to me.
"Heh? Would you like to repeat that?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Who's the boy? The reason you're late to lunch. Why you never come to the band room early anymore. It has to be a boy," she explained.
"Haha you're hilarious. You think I have a secret boyfriend, and I didn't tell you? You're exactly right," I said sarcastically.
Ariel looked at me and shrugged. "Yeah you're right."
Everyone else also shrugged and went back to eating. I mentally sighed. I had somehow managed to diminish their suspicions. My phone buzzed, it was a text from Isaac.
I just went through an intensive interrogation! They were convinced that we were doing nasty things in the bathroom! 😖

I contained my laughter and texted back.
Haha! They're such idiots! My friends are angry that I'm always late and Ariel thought that I was sneaking around with a guy, but didn't know who. I killed the suspicion though.

Lucky! I had to assure my friends that I still have my v card. 😡. Can you help me?
          ~Isaac
How? Wait I have an idea. Hold tight I'm coming to the rescue!
          ~Me
       Should I be concerned???
         ~Isaac
      Nope! It'll all be okay!

I put my phone in my pocket and dug out last night's math homework.
"I'll be right back. I have to go ask about this problem," I said to my friends, standing up.
"Wait let me look at it. Math is easy for me," Katie said.
"I know that Miss. I'm two years ahead in math. I was working on it with Ms. Denison and she told me the answer, but I wrote down the wrong one and so I'm just going to ask Scott who was also in the room," I explained.
"Are you sure you're going to be able to do it? Especially with Isaac there? With your anxiety and all?" Mallory asked.
"Scott's my friend I'll be fine. Plus I have back up assurance," I said pointing to my wrist that had a rubber band on it.
"Okay, but if you start having an attack come back immediately," Micaela said motherly.
"Yes mom," with that I walked to Isaac's table. I was only friends with about three of his friends the others I hadn't really talked to, but with Isaac there I knew that I'd be alright.
I approached the table, and stood next to Scott. Isaac sat on the other side of him, so by standing here to my friends it looks like I'm talking to Scott and to his friends it looks like I'm standing next a friend, but asking someone else the answer. I timidly asked, "Hey Isaac? Could you tell me the answer to number twenty? I know Ms. Denison told us the answer, but I'm pretty sure I wrote down the wrong answer."
Gulping down a mouth full of food he said, "yeah sure. It's x=42 and y=3."
"Yeah that makes more sense than y=23. Thanks," I was about to head back when one of his friends, that I don't particularly like, spoke up.
        "Hey Kat," Chris spoke up.
"Yes Chris?" I said in an annoyed tone. Scott, Jack, Jared, and Isaac all look at Chris, then me, then each other. They knew this wasn't going to be good.
"You're a virgin right?" He asked mischievously.
         "Why do you wanna know?"
"Cause I'm just curious," he shrugged. "So what's your answer?"
My fingers began to tap against against my notebook, I was wavering. Isaac's eyes showed panic, but I refused to let myself have an attack. "Why should I tell you?"
"Because the longer you refuse to answer the more reason why have to suspect that you aren't," he was grinning like a grinch.
This conversation was making me uncomfortable. My eyes darted around and people would glance at me. Nothing like staring and talking about me, but a simple glance was enough.
"Leave her alone Chris. She doesn't have to answer that if she doesn't want to," Isaac spoke up, Scott, Jack, and Jared nodding  their heads in agreement.
"You're just defending her because you don't want your secret coming out," Chris said wiggling his eye brows. Isaac's other friends just sat there watching not doing anything.
"You think that I've been doing nasty things with Isaac? That's gross," I put on a very good stink face. "Nasty things in general are gross. Yes I'm a virgin happy? Will you shut up now?"
Chris sat back looking smug. "It wasn't that hard now was it?"
I scoffed and stormed back to my table. I heard Isaac, Scott, Jack, and Jared all yelling at Chris. I plopped into my chair with a heavy sigh. My friends didn't seem to notice, but that's okay.
You okay? I'm so sorry that happened. I have no idea why he did that. 😞
            ~Isaac
I'm fine, just a little pissed. Did it work?
          ~me
Yeah. It really worked. Thank you so much. You sure that you're ok?
          ~Isaac
        I'm fine. I promise.
